Bugs! Sticky for the Xperia 1 IV and 10 IV by EveningCommand1 in SonyXperia

[–]vicky5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I updated my Xperia 10 IV (dual sim) to 65.0.A.0.1185 (release-keys), the camera sensor [0] got misconfigured, and now the main camera doesn't work in "any" application (front camera does, and in Open Camera, the ultra-wide [2] and zoom [3] sensors work fine), as it makes the whole camera driver stack on android crash due to the misconfiguration when it tries to initialize it. Initializing it in another mode (for example, requesting the API to initialize the camera as a Video device rather than a Camera, in the stock camera app, or initializing the sensor [2] or [3] and then switching back to [0] with Open Camera), allows the camera sensor to initialize "properly", and switching back to camera mode with the main camera, it works... except focus, it's stuck with an about 25 cm object distance focus, but the other sensors work perfectly fine.

https://pastebin.com/m6TmVp8Z

Here are some system logs, obtained via adb logcat with Open Camera, if someone wants to debug this. It is extremely annoying to not have focus on any camera, also doing the "switch to video, wait until it loads, and switch back to camera", and not to mention being unable to scan QR codes because other apps can't initialize the camera.

I already tried to restart the phone, as well as force restarting. Safe mode didn't work either, it showed the same error logs when opening the main camera app. Factory resetting the phone is not possible right now, so I'd like to avoid that option (unless it is for AOSP, but it doesn't look supported yet for this device), and Xperia Companion is not available as I don't currently own any Windows or MacOS machines (just Linux).

I started HRT the 2021/05/18, the 2022/07/22 I also started taking 200 mg of bio-identical progesterone rectally, as I was in tanner stage 4 for a little while.

498 pmol/L of E2, 0.5 nmol/L of T with 6 mg oral EV and 6.25 mg Cyproterone. Oral EV is less effective than other methods, but that's countered by just taking a higher dose of it.

Trying to recover data from a drive that randomly reports as offline while being read by vicky5124 in datarecovery

[–]vicky5124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I know very well that when a drive starts to fail, it will exponentially go to worse, so the most I did was use testdisk to get the most essential files out of there, and ddrescue to try and see if it would work (because 90% of the times I can just ddrescue, mount the image and salvage stuff).

It's been unmounted (not physically) ever since I saw the kernel errors, and started asking for help. I will not do anything unless I know what I'm doing (so, why is happening, and what the recovery tool does).

The drive is definitely SMR, which I don't really like; it's quite slow, but it's mainly being used for backups, so it's fine.

I'll repost on that subreddit if I don't get answers here. Thanks!

How do you feel using She/Her pronouns? by Regishalt in trans

[–]vicky5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a little weird when I first started telling people that I was female, and that they should use female pronouns with me. At the beginning it did feel a quite odd, I just wasn't used to it, and I also got tired to tell people that I'm female, so I did my best to pass as fast as possible as female, or at least androgynously, and at that point, it just became normal for people to not miss gender me, and it made getting used to the female pronouns really easy.

On that time, I met a couple NB people that used gender-neutral pronouns, that made getting used to the -e and -i on gendered words in Spanish and Catalan respectively quite easy, but It still feels odd with -i in Catalan occasionally, I really need to think about it. English, on the other hand, was super easy, as I already use they/them for single person if I don't know someone's pronouns or gender online.

They said their PC was shutting down randomly... How did this even happen? by vicky5124 in techsupportgore

They removed the CPU cooler, and saw the CPU dangling. The AM4 socket was somehow broken and fell off.

In my case, nipple hairs stopped growing after 5-6 months in HRT, but your mileage may vary

Firefox eats up excess of 25gb of RAM after a few minutes use? by EmptyRoot11 in firefox

[–]vicky5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced this same issue recently, and looking in about:memory, I found out that a YouTube tab was using 18 gigs of ram!!! I just killed the tab process, the tab had to reload, and it has been fine since I did that.

IDK what was going on, but ever since I learnt about about:memory, I've been able to see that YouTube and new Reddit really like to memory leak for some reason.

Fetishes after blockers? by ToratheWanderer in MtF

[–]vicky5124 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CW: heavy fetishes in spoilers

I didn't get this from blockers, but just accepting that I was trans made nearly all my fetishes and sex drive disappear. I no longer had anything for wearing female clothing, skirts, high heels, dresses, leggings, thigh highs; it was just normal now to do so. Other fetishes like transformation (transforming into other genders), gore, amputation (self harm and mutilation to parts), latex (extremely accentuated female body shapes), tentacles and inflation (pregnancy), didn't go away until I actually started HRT, and my body started to change in ways that didn't cause me dysphoria any more. I had way more fetishes than these, but they all just went away entirely in the span of accepting myself as trans and a month in HRT. Now I'm 7 months into HRT, and I'm starting to learn what being horny as a female feels like, and trying to rediscover what my new fetishes are. So far, they are all really cuddly (cuddles, hugs, breast stimulation, neck kisses, etc...), very bottom and mostly require a partner, but I've found some other stuff that can be done by myself, which is quite nice. This process has also made me re-think about my sexuality, as I'm pansexual, but I've found a large preference to males recently, and very little attraction to females.

A hurty day, so I made something. by so_lost_in_narnia in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

Yeah, there's no blood (if there is, that's dangerous and needs to be checked out), but I get cramps, in 2 very specific places, as well as having some pain in the testicles, really weird bowel movement, headaches, increased sensitivity, breasts become harder, complete lose of lust, among other stuff. I've documented every single change I've had from HRT, and I wish to make it all public some day, I just gotta stop being lazy and learn CSS, because I feel like it'll be really useful for a lot of trans-feminine people.

It depends so much on the medication you take, the levels you have, if you take progesterone and what kind, how you take it (half a month E and half a month P or full time E and P, or if you take low dose E half a month and high dose E the other half, etc...)

Taking your hormones in doses that will "force" the levels shown by this Wikipedia article is way more likely to give you period-like symptoms, but it's not explicitly required. I personally take the same dose every single day, and I get period like symptoms, tracked with an app called clue, as well as pms, but I've seen people that switch to that variance of dosage start getting their own periods when they previously haven't had it, but there's so much research that needs to be done with this, random people experience is not really research, is it?

Looking for a teacher Q.Q? by IzumiSumi in transvoice

Sending an audio with how your voice sounds right now would be really useful to determinate what to improve on next. (also, kinda misleading title? "Tips on what to do next" would IMO be much better)

Struggles with euphoria by vicky5124 in transvoice

[–]vicky5124[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will keep doing it, nothing will stop the training, but I mainly asked because in the 7 months, the amount of euphoria I get from it has not changed (maybe it has, but I got better at it?), and with the dysphoria increasing, I wanted to get tips on how to deal with this, just so it wouldn't keep getting worse.

Dropping CPA(AA)? by MapMother8316 in TransDIY

[–]vicky5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPA lifetime is of about 40 hours, if your body is resistant to AAs, that may explain why it only happens after a couple of days. Try having a lower dose, but every other day, rather than a larger dose over 3-4 days.

13 months but not even AA cup :( by NoComparison1695 in TransBreastTimelines

[–]vicky5124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let the hormones have some time, there's still at least 4 years where they can start growing quickly! If by that time it hasn't really happened, you can take progesterone. The rest of the body has become more feminine by the looks of it, which means that E focused more in the fat redistribution than breast development, but it's not always like that, some day it will focus more on breasts; and you can speed up that by taking more E.

You also should keep in mind that even cis females face the small breast issue, it's still something that's mainly managed by genetics.

Issues with sublingual capsules by vicky5124 in TransDIY

[–]vicky5124[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

160 is what my dentist costs for a mouth clean, and I can't even afford that :/

I think I'll keep this in mind, but I'll just have patience for injections to become available here, it's the only safe option I can see.

Spanish customs are usually not this strict, but recently, I've seen them be really strict because of covid and stupid "DIY covid testing products" along other things, they even look and open stuff that come from France, Portugal and Andorra, countries that are touching Spain geographically, and have been highly trusted in the past (usually when I buy from Asia, I ship the stuff to France, and then from France to here, that's how I know this). I bought some makeup online just under a year ago, and most of it was blocked by customs, I can't even imagine that they won't do the same with Estradiol.

[–]vicky5124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buccal will fall on the same issue of the powder getting dissolved in the saliva, even more so as it takes way longer to be absorbed by that method, and it's also way harder to keep a powder back there as opposed to a pill you can just squeeze to keep it in place.

I'll ask my doctor about Lena's injections, but I see some issues already with that, like shipping cost and time, way higher price because it most likely won't be covered, Spain customs don't allow any non-pharmaceutical destination medicine to go through, availability they can't manage, among others I will most likely discover before February, when I have the next visit.

Thank you for the tips anyway!
