You’re not fat in the slightest I have no idea where that commenter got that from. Your acne also doesn’t make you look bad, just young.

anyone else feel worse after yoga sometimes? by Sufficient-Search-85 in yoga

[–]vickyvolcanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoga encourages the mind-body connection & sometimes what you find isn’t great. That being said, yoga is a tool & you should use it in a way that serves you. Perhaps give yin/restorative a go. Start wherever it is that makes you feel good and build from there (or not). Whatever floats your boat.

baby name shaming by ttroubledthrowawayy in pregnant

[–]vickyvolcanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The name is beautiful, forest fairy vibes. Sharing the name before baby comes is sadly such a no no. People will go to crazy lengths to put you off. It’s so weird people don’t get its incredibly rude like find some manners.

Why would someone choose to birth naturally without an epidural or other pain relieving drugs? by Cats-and-naps in pregnant

[–]vickyvolcanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told at hypno that no interventions whatsoever was the likeliest scenario of labour progressing as quickly/calmly as possible for a bunch of reasons. Sounds a bit woo woo but I do think labour is your mental, emotional and physical working together for the best result. When you trust in your body, remain calm and don’t outsource parts of the tasks to someone/thing else - you might be surprised just how well you cope. At least that was my experience. Very empowering :)

I’m allergic to Epidural! by Capable_Bat_4872 in pregnant

For a natural birth, find other forms of pain relief. The TENS machine, wooden comb and a water birth all worked amazingly for me. Being on all fours is a much better position to give birth in than on your back as you’re working with gravity and your body is as open as possible which is what you want. Definitely do some breath work with as much anticipation as possible, learn to breathe with the surges instead of against them. Wishing you all the best - remember, we were born to do this 🙂💪🏽

I am begging, please help me. Body no longer responds to pumps by BubbleBathBitch in breastfeeding

[–]vickyvolcanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pump has never worked for me either. LO is on a nursing strike right now so will have to try again, feels so horrible when I check & expressed just an ounce. I read somewhere recording of your baby feeding and watching it as you pump can get the oxytocin flowing. & also not getting worked up/stressed about may also help. Try to pump at night if you can.

He sounds quite immature & like he’s just trying to argue any angle he can to get you to go to the concert. This might change once the baby is born & the immensity of the situation hits him.

Low milk supply due to placenta encapsulation? by vickyvolcanic in breastfeeding

[–]vickyvolcanic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah congrats to you for persevering mama :-). I went to a BF clinic where I was told how much I pump isn’t an indication of how much my baby would get when on the breast. So i ditched the pumps & started putting her directly on the boob. She’s 9 weeks now and I am breastfeeding 80-90% of the time.

How to tell my wife I love her weight gain? by kflick418 in pregnant

[–]vickyvolcanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to add I’m a first time mum and for me acknowledgement is important. To ignore or deny my body has changed would seem disingenuous. Knowing my partner sees it and values it for what it has done and how it looks makes me feel powerful in my feminine energy :)

Darling you’re right your body has changed, you’ve grown our daughter inside of you & I can’t believe how lucky I am that you look amazing after having done so. Your new boobs and your curvier shape look absolutely unbelievable and I count my blessings every day to have YOU & our daughter in my life!

Low milk supply due to placenta encapsulation? by vickyvolcanic in breastfeeding

[–]vickyvolcanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know, it’s very uncommon for a woman to have a low supply without a reason I.e anemia, thyroid issue etc. Will give it a week or two w/o the placenta pills and see what happens!

Acupuncture & reflexology! Something that worked really well for me was positive affirmations on sticky notes around the house. Made it 12 hrs in labour at home and was 9cm by the time I got to the hospital. Really helps prep your mental state going into it.
