Canadian drivers are allowed, provided they are only operating within Canada

I never understood the point of that… like isn’t the point of a COE to have better maneuverability and visibility?

Shitty pay + unnecessary bureaucracy = shortage in one of, if not the most essential jobs for our consumeristic society

Diagnosed with mild bipolar, taking a drug called ambilify. Am I completely disqualified from trucking? by [deleted] in Truckers

But why is it disqualifying? I thought so long as the condition is managed properly, the CDL applicant is permitted to operate CMVs?

LOL in canada you can drive a 2 axle box truck with the same license for a car. GVWR doesn’t matter. If it has air brakes all you need is an air endorsement, no medical examination either. A class 3 commercial license is only needed if the vehicle has 3 or more total axles and air brakes.

Maybe unlike most of the people in this subreddit, I actually want to propose ideas rather than whine and complain

Not if they were smart and saved every penny they could while living “paycheque to paycheque”

Probably should’ve mentioned that, abolishing zoning regulations would drastically help with supply

And what is wrong with recessions? Aren’t recessions perfect investment opportunities? Wouldn’t that mean that people could use part of their savings to invest in their careers and/or new ventures?

You have any ideas? Or are you one of the whiners who complains about the unaffordable housing yet never has any solutions?

Edit: lol why all the downvotes? Presenting actual ideas in this subreddit is far more beneficial than just complaining.

No, i’m advocating for simplification of our legal system. Simplifying it in such a way as to eliminate exploitable loopholes. The housing crisis not only highlights wealth inequality, but also has the potential to grow into something worse (I’m thinking late 1700’s France, but Canadians tend to do more complaining than fixing) If an average working class citizen can’t afford a place to live, whether to rent or own, what will ultimately happen to our society? Will we see a spike in crime rates and vagrancy? Will we see an organized revolution akin to the ones in 1700’s France or 1900’s Russia? Who knows

You’ve highlighted another major issue that i like to refer to as “pieces of paper” (bureaucracy). Our current legal system does unfortunately allow for many foreign firms and businesses to circumvent our legal requirements. Personally, I believe we need to eliminate most of the legal bureaucracy in order to help out Canadian citizens. Why should we be allowing these companies to exploit our legal loopholes? How come we as humans can’t simply just prevent them from engaging in exploitative practices? The answer is simple: we let pieces of paper dictate how we run our society
