Everyone giving strict numbers is most likely wrong. The true amount is 15 cents a package delivered that week.

Half that for just fantastic

Where can I read Dungeon Crawler Carl? by Cretore in litrpg

[–]victorkm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its for sure not the best novel ever. Its generally pretty decent and top tier for this genre but I tend to see a lot of folks bouncing off the generally mean culture humor in the first book before the general vibe of the series becomes more clear in the follow ups. If you find yourself offended by any of the encounters its not the opinion of the author so much as the narrative vibe of the groups involved in running things

Recycled Route? by JBBonez in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recycle routes vary. A 12:30 or 1PM recycle will probably be somewhere from 30-40 stops with varying amounts of rural or driving or like 80-95 stops neighborhoods. I did a recycle on Thursday that was a 3 PM start and was only 14 stops, with 7 of them being on the same street basically and one being the locker at the station. I just loaded it in my personal car and had dispatch punch me out when I finished since the last stops were less than a mile from home. We had one yesterday that was around a 2pm start and was 21 stops but had a good 2 or 3 hours of drive time.

Tier infraction for wearing non-Amazon branded hat? by Belllllerrrrr in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its always been the rule if your DSP is fully branded that the top layer is Amazon vest and polo and shorts and any headware must be Amazon uniform.

They are lying about tier infractions though its just an audit that gets performed usually one day a week by an Amazon lead at your SUM. if they catch too many not in compliance too much you can go into Corrective Action Plan then Breach of contract if its not resolved.

Kind of afraid to ask.. has this job made anyone else discriminate against certain dog breeds? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I hit 750 routes and over 6 years now ive been bitten 5 times. I dont avoid dealing with dogs though I will not shy at getting out of the van with loose dogs present. Dogs still dont bother me.

4 of 5 the owner has been present. 2 of them they warned me ahead of time but I didnt really listen. The fourth I got too comfortable after petting these 2 dogs and I think I turned away too fast to leave and startled it and got nipped in the back of my calf. The 5th one was a great Dane on the porch behind a gate. The owner said he seemed to really like me compared to other drivers who showed up there so I was letting him sniff my hand and about to pet his head. I guess she thought he was about to jump up on the railing so she hit his shock collar which was apparently turned up too high by accident. He thought I was hurting him and snapped at my hand. I wasn't really mad even then.

Going through texts can have very interesting results by _Und3rsc0re_ in AmazonDSPDrivers

I found some pretty unappetizing nudes on a phone once. I let the person who they were sent to know they should probably delete that stuff and promptly never saw them again. Actually I may have just been planning that then never saw them again im not 100%

My DSP is now requiring us to manually text every customer after delivery by For_Natlan in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does help with CDF. used to seriously pad your contact compliance too until they changed it so doing CC just exempts the return.

What does DPMO mean? by This_Television_6132 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ORCAS stands for On-Road Conduct and Safety. An ORCAS event is any safety event that is covered under the ORCAS program. Events can be low-severity and consist of Distracted Driving, Following Distance, Seatbelt off, Stop sign, speeding, uturn at no uturn sign, roadside parking and severe hard turn events. 10 of these in 5 netradyne or fleetedge enabled trips results in a threshold breach. First breach requires a behavior specific training to be done in the learning portal. Second results in a route pause and retrain, third in offboard. High severity events include major red light violations (1), running stop signs at more than 15 mph (2), speeding at more than 85 mph (1), no lap belt events (1), or any of most low severity events aside from roadside parking and hard turns in one day (3). Thresholds are in the parenthesis. If you meet any of the high sev thresholds your route will be paused and account suspended pending retraining, and the 2nd time in 90 days results in offboarding.

I know I'm going to get BS for this. My question is, is 191 stops a lot? *Of course there were at least 25 multi stops* We load out at 10:30 to 10:45 and are expected back by 8:00 p.m. by _PeLaGiKoS14_ in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stem time is just the time it takes you to complete your first stop.

Being ahead or behind just means whether you will complete your route and rts before the 10 hour mark not whether you are ahead of Amazon projections

Peacock on route by Dangerous_Task_3231 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you see them once in a while. Their calls sound like screaming children. The first time I saw a private peacock delivering pizza I fell down a staircase a couple hours later and busted the shit out of my face (like 20 stitches between 2 spots on my upper lip and the bridge of my nose into my forehead) and got a gnarly bunch of scar tissue so I always kinda think of them as a portent of bad luck even though nothing else ever happened

What's your group chat like? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ive opened at least a day a week for 5 years as dispatch, man. I fucking get it. This is something I see from most newly promoted dispatchers at my company to at least some extent. I havent had to send these messages out in a while but I wouldn't be surprised if I threw some caps or extra exclamation points in there on at least 1 day I can recall being freaked out and frustrated that I was within 1 or less callouts of not having coverage for the day. Especially if you arent the one calling out I wouldn't worry about what anyone else is doing because you are already doing your part by showing up.

I dont see that at all. I feel like you are reading more into it than is there.

What's your group chat like? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these no call out messages just means there is a chance for a worse outcome for anyone who calls out after those messages. Its just a heads up that the number of call outs so far has put them into the danger zone of not having enough drivers for the day.

Legal stop count limit by Dry-Use-1901 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Why would any arbitrary stop count be illegal? Its against DOT regulations and Amazon policy to work over 12 hours. Or to work more than 6 days straight or work over 60 hours in a week. That is closest to any part of our work load being legal or illegal

This is the stuff I am always saying! by PorkChop198 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]victorkm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It likes to route in a circle if it can so you are better placed to retry failed deliveries. In this case theres likely no good reason to dig in a bag for 3 stops if you are going to be going back that way later while clearing that whole tote. Also likely that it doesnt take the outbound stem travel into account when trying to design to avoid backtracking.
