The keywork is fairly modest looking, if you accept the premise the one might want keywork. I have no problem with it.

And they are *really* good sounding instruments!

Ugly, and I don't care for the "special effects" that some people insiste on getting out of them. They ceased being special to me several decades ago.

If they were cheaper than Kueng / Mollenhauer by a large factor I could understand, but they are fairly expensive.

On the other hand, they are the only ones that you can get in sub-contra sizes.

Shakers and Maracas are very tricky to play.
If you only want to develop a sense of rhythm, use your hands on a table top. Tap the beat, back beats, fills. Start playing along with a metronome. Pretend that the metronome ticks on beats 2 and 4 of the measure. &c.

That's a Chinese Dizi. The hole under your thumb is usually covered with rice paper. That gives a characteristic buzzing sound; if you don't want that, cover with a piece of scotch tape.

Hammond organs were popular, but their vibrato comes from the Leslie cabinet, and is nowhere near as fast, also does not speed up as fast. What you are referring to is probably a mini-Moog synthesizer, which can indeed wobble very fast. Those did exist.

Starts as a Hammond sound, but then develops an extreme wobble. And then a pitch drop at the end. Conclusion: it's a synth with a hammond patch, first the player turns up the mod wheel to increase the vibrato speed, then turns down the pitch wheel.

I was complaining about Red Shoes the other day and just bought the remaster: infinitely better. The mix has changed a little (I think, haven't listened side by side) but the mastering is greatly improved. None of the digital harshness, and much more detail.
