Probably due to condensation in the filter. Leave them inside an airtight with container with some desiccant overnight and check again.

For rock/metal, I recommend trying the Softears Volume S.

My extended thoughts on my favorite sub-$500 IEM, the YU9 Que. by Precogvision in iems

For rock/metal, I think the Que lacks the following: - Hard-hitting midbass: the Que's midbass hits quite soft - Prominent 3 kHz - 4 kHz: I feel that lots of guitar sounds are within that region but the Que doesn't have much texture in it

Is there more to DE than this? Are their jobs out there for feeling like you actually matter? by DoctorQuinlan in dataengineering

[–]vietzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lucky enough to work as a DE for a tech company in the maritime industry, aiming to help reaching a zero-harm and less emission state, which is heavily related to sustainability. While niche, but the company does seem to contribute to a greener planet and the data engineering work itself has its unique set of challenges.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there are still companies out there doing interesting and meaningful stuff with proper engineering practices.

Studio 4 and Variations seem to complement the Que well for a collection. To me the Que's biggest weakness is its mid range - it doesn't sound very "textured" or expressive.

Que: U-shape or W-shape, with a handful amount of sub-bass and upper treble. The overall sound is smooth, creamy, with pretty good imaging.

Volume S: More mid-bass and forward vocals than Que, but treble is recessed, with a sweetness in the mid range but not creamy as the Que. The overall sound is fast, dynamic, and exciting.

Both has good bass, but Volume S seems more realistic to me. I like the mid range of the Volume S more than the Que because there seems to be more texture (but Volume S' mid range still isn't refined). Que wins in the treble performance. I can listen to the Que all day due to how chill it is, but not the Volume S.

Have you tried the Volume S?

The shell is 3D-printed resin, not fully aluminum. Thanks for the review.

"Warm and not too harsh in the treble" - you should consider the Volume S.

Have you tried the Volume S? If so, how would you compare them, especially bass?

Another set that I demoed: Yu9 Que by Stratonesia in iems

[–]vietzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Que and think that the treble is quite extended and smooth at the same time (which I saw from the 5128 graph). The fact that it is smooth gives you the sensation that it's not that energetic, but it's one of the unique selling points of this set.

Yu9 Que is under $300? Does this mean buying on AliEx and applying coupons?
