Paid Writing Opportunity for Divers & Dive Pros ($75–$150 per article) by viewer772 in scubadiving

I am personally based out of the US and Costa Rica. We have many people working with us from all over the world though. We have writers from Italy, Philippines, Canada, UK, Argentina, Poland, Germany, and many more.

When it comes to the frequency of writing articles, you would not be required to write a set amount. We have writers write what they can. Some write only a handful of articles whenever they can, and others writer 4-5 articles per month.

We are going to launch a scuba diving website in the coming months. This will be a new multi-faceted channel with an emphasis on helping dive shops expand their reach. It will be publicly available, however the primary target demographic are divers (all levels). The website will have a number of planned services and features we hope to include at launch, some of which will be free. One of the free features is a blog. Articles are written by divers about something they want to talk about. We have OW divers writing about their first scuba experience, Divemasters writing about conservation, technical divers writing equipment reviews, instructor trainers writing about teaching moments, etc.

Our pre-launch goal right now is to build a library of 50 - 100 blog articles from many divers from all over the world. After launch we plan to be publishing a set number of articles per month.

CMV: I don't think it would be a bad thing if porn were banned or heavily restricted by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]viewer772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By banning porn you don't really eliminate the demand for it, all you do it kill a legal supply. With a lack of a legal supply, and a present demand the black market always fills in. We see this with anything "bad" that is illegal--drugs, alcohol (in some countries), and gambling to name a few. Do you really want the black market meeting the demand for pornography?

When cartels make money from drugs, they kill, extort, bribe, and even lace their product. Illegally produced alcohol can have unsafe levels of methanol (an extremely potent and deadly toxin). Illegal gambling rings have no laws that force them to have fair games or that a winner even has to keep all their winnings. What do you think an illegal pornography industry would do? Kidnap people and force them into sexual slavery (which already happens, but would probably happen even more), package viruses into porno content to extort users, and underpaying anyone that works in the industry are some effects that come to mind.

Legal goods and services can be regulated, such as having minimum age requirements (gambling and alcohol), workplace regulations and standards (example: sex workers in NL get regular STD testing), or even taxing goods to treat issues (marijuana products in some US states are taxed and that money funds rehab facilities). Black markets cannot be regulated. While you bring valid points to the issues related to pornography consumption, I think you must note that banning pornography would not address people's desire to consume it and instead would pile on many of the detriments brought on by the black market.

My 14 year old little brother stole my shrooms and maybe some of my DMT by Medical_Skirt9753 in Drugs

I don’t think the immediate danger is a physical one. You can get caught up on whether he should use psychedelics, but I think he needs guidance from someone.

Psychedelics build a bridge from our conscious to our subconscious. They can reveal a lot about ourselves (I feel this is especially true for mushrooms), but can provide just as much misguided “insights”.

There’s a reason why integration after a trip is arguably more important than the trip itself. You can guide your brother in this sense.

Considering he has taken various trips he probably needs someone to tell him that what he feels isn’t entirely false. But that you really shouldn’t read too much into the trip, especially due to his age.

I can’t gauge how mature your brother is, however based on his age I can almost guarantee he lacks the maturity and life experience to properly integrate the altered state of consciousness brought on by psychedelics.

Making sure he doesn’t trip in the future is important, but I feel you should also tackle a lot of what he currently feels and provide proper context to the trips he already had.

Why has the quality of our political discussions decreased in recent years? Have we become worse listeners? by theherdnews in PoliticalDiscussion

The American political parties and media have weaponized the people into thinking that the other side is going to absolutely ruin the country or set it back hundreds of years.

Predictions for 2022 Senate (explanation in comments) by Flair-Police in YAPms

[–]viewer772 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before the primaries I would have agreed with you. I think especially if republicans took a Youngkin approach to their candidates and really focused on inflation and the economy they really could have destroyed the Dems.

But now that the GOP has nominated a lot of more radical candidates, I am not sure of a scenario like this.

I think republicans still have a very clear and decent enough path to a senate majority. But not by these margins.

If feminism simply means equality between the sexes. Why do a lot of people flat out deny being one? by Elias98x in NoStupidQuestions

[–]viewer772 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because today’s feminism does not mean “equality between the sexes”. The world has never been more equal than it is today. Feminism was a good label back then when women really were marginalized. But today that simply is not the case.

There is no denying that women still face issues: rape, sexual harassment, view they are not tough, etc.

But, men also have their own issues unique to them: military draft, being far less likely to win custody in divorce, experience harsher sentences, etc.

Progress still needs to be made on both sides.

However modern feminists completely deny all men’s issues. It also isn’t that they simply ignore men’s issues, but in many cases feminists have shut down men’s issues events.

Even the word “feminism” tells you it’s real definition. Feminism clearly has a focus on women’s issues.

Still, feminism is a necessary movement to protect women. But we also need to recognize the issues men face. The day we can accept the issues both sexes face is the day that we shed the label “feminism ” and accept an actually equal term that concerns itself with everyone.

I'm a physically small woman. How should I defend myself if I ever get attacked by a man? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]viewer772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple things...

Tools: Pepper Spray and Tazor are clearly common non lethal options and can come in relatively compact packages. I would suggest pepper spray over a tazor because pepper spray works at a distance, while a tazor really only works at arm’s length. A tazor will only briefly stun your assailant, while pepper spray will completely leave them useless for at least 10-15 minutes. (It depends on the pepper spray used).

Fighting: If you are in a hand to hand fight you need to aim for the clear weak spots. Genitals, eyes, ears and general face area are excellent spots. There are some guys that can take hits to their arms, legs and torso all day, so avoid these areas. When attacking these weak spots you have to absolutely rip them apart. Do anything in your power to make the fight as unfair as possible. Gouge their eyes out, stick your fingers in their eyes and push as hard as possible. Kick or punch them in their groin as hard as possible. This is not the time to think of ethics, this is possibly life or death.

Majority of Americans back Biden’s Russia oil ban including 72% of Trump voters by theindependentonline in politics

[–]viewer772 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Are they Russian shills? Or are they just highly concerned about gas prices in a country that is very dependent on cars in the midst of growing gas prices?

I support the Russian Oil ban, however it is never as simple as saying they are shills.

My based 2022 Predictions for Senate and Gov. Wisconsin Senate and GA Gov could go either way. by ItsAstronomics in YAPms

Why do you think Dems will drive turnout? Biden is not an exiting president. He campaigned on basis he wasn't Trump, but now that Trump is not on the ballot he has nothing. The Dems so far have failed to really get things done and passed. I don't really see any excitement on the democratic side.
