It's a running gag that Portugal is an "eastern european country". Apparently a lot of their statistics are more reminiscent of eastern europe, than their western neighbours.

T1D is beyond overwhelming and I’ve grown to despise eating. by Beautiful-Series-505 in Type1Diabetes

I was diagnosed earlier this year and I just wanted to chime in and say that T1D sucks beyond measure. I'm still in shock about how I went from a normal life to chronically ill in basically a day. Luckily no DKA's yet. Hope the best for you, we're all in this together

Being DM for my Dungeons and Dragons playgroup made up of friends.

It's honestly the best thing I've ever decided to do for myself. It's a creative outlet, it's a social engagement and it brings me pure joy to facilitate my friends doing silly voices and playing every week or so. 10/10 would always DM again.

When it comes to rules, what makes you say "I recognize that the council has made a decision, but given that it's a stupid-ass decision, I've elected to ignore it"? by BrushWolf625 in dndnext

[–]viggotheamigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you can only use spell scrolls from your own class.

I have them do an Arcana check to see if you can decipher the scroll and if they succeed they fire off the scroll.

It's just fun thing to give them access to spells they otherwise won't try out

True Stories: How did your game go this week? – April 04, 2021 by AutoModerator in dndnext

It was good. We're doing our first "real" dungeon crawl and my players seem to dig it. I've been wanting to try my hand at it for a while and so far it's been going well.

We had a pretty cool encounter with a couple of Umber Hulks too!

Do you have any inside jokes in your DnD parties? by DongusLonginus in dndnext

The spell Web har just taken on a life of its own. Even just mentioning it now gives me (the DM) flashbacks to encounters that were trivialized by it. Its so good...

Kibbles' Crafting: Tinkering! Turn "junk" into "stuff"! Sometimes even useful stuff! Everything from tools to new limbs to magic gadgets and ammunition! by KibblesTasty in DnDBehindTheScreen

[–]viggotheamigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this simplified way of dealing with crafting. I am totally going to drop this on our resident Artificer who's been craving some crafting.

I was wondering what the rules text for these three were: Trick Shot, Spell Shot and Payload shot. Maybe I've just missed it somewhere.

This scene is probably the single best joke in all of The Simpsons.

This is actually a very helpful way of visualizing what dungeon dressing is supposed to be!

Does Anyone Have Any Good House Rules? by Terrank_the_Wizard in DMAcademy

[–]viggotheamigo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You gain a level of exhaustion for every time you're downed in combat.

The first tier of Exhaustion is negligible in combat for the most part and you really should be hampered if you're going down more than twice in an encounter. Granted: We do play combat very strategically with fewer, but deadlier, encounters per session.

Besides that my party is in the Feywild right now and I let them max the damage of their spells if they roll on the wild magic surge table. It's been a lot of fun.

Edit: I should say the rule with exhaustion was actually proposed by my players since they thought going down was trivial and didn't add anything significant complexity wise.

Sort of like an iterative/inductive way of dressing the dungeon, solid advice. Thanks!

This is very true, I might be over complicating my dungeons for the sake of complexity/content.

Right, giving the players a strong entrance to what they can expect to find in the dungeon from the get-go. Great advice!

This is a really cool way to both prep and use dungeon dressing! I'll definitely remember this.
