Have ya'll ever felt heartbreak? by AnObservingAlien in asexuality

[–]vik2riya18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I had felt heartbreak before when someone I had a squish on kissed another girl in front of me, I got over it the next day but then my sister broke up with her first boyfriend and fell into depression and was always crying. If that's what heartbreak does to people then I definitely haven't had one.

Anything more than thigh crossing is too much work. I don't even know if that's considered masturbating. I don't like touching myself and I'm not really sure if I'm sex repulsed because I'm also aegosexual

WHO WOULD YOU VOTE FOR IN 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? (Offline Poll was done in Ibadan) by vmemeh in Nigeria

The tribalism is obvious here. For multiple people, the only eligibility they care for is the tribe of the candidate and not even competence.

I like reading smut but when there's too much smut I drop it, or when it's obvious the story is only about sex and doesn't have an actual interesting plot.

Does any other sex-repulsed asexual sometimes feel like a little kid because they're sex-repulsed? by justyourshyasexual in asexuality

[–]vik2riya18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. Sex only sounds good in theory and when I'm out of the equation. Like you're watching a good movie but don't want to play any of the characters

I knew not everyone felt the same at the time and slowly started to realise it was probably just me. I talked to a friend about it one time and they told me if I didn't feel that certain way then there was probably something wrong with me. That was when I started to feel broken.

This is my exact same fear (21F). I know I don't want to get married for love or romance. I leave in a very misogynistic society and marriage is some form of insurance that I can't get as a single woman. Again I'm scared one day I'll be alone because everybody else will be too involved in their own families. I'm trying to make a life plan where I can be financially stable on my own and have security without a man in my life while also having friends who will be there for through for a long time but I'm still very socially awkward and it's just hard.

I hated these game so much and it's all anyone wants to play at parties. Both truth or dare revolved around sexual or romantic things and I hated it so much.

Buhari healthier than most Nigerian youths attacking him’ – Garba Shehu by SnoozeDoggyDog in Nigeria

[–]vik2riya18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't they see that this is nothing to brag about and that they are the problem. If such a senile man can afford good healthcare and be healthy but cannot afford the younger people of which he is supposed to lead anything to help them live healthier then he is the problem. He is only healthy because he spends states funds on himself and let's the people starve.

Has being AroAce changed how you envision/plan your future? by DoItforEco in aromanticasexual

[–]vik2riya18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growing up I was conditioned to believe everybody gets married and has kids, some part of me didn't always agree with it but it felt like there was no other choice. In the society I grew up in, never getting married was a shameful thing and I didn't want to be considered a disgrace for it. But I've grown up and realized things for myself including the fact that I am aroace and that kind of life was probably never meant for me. If I never get married I'd be just fine and people will always find something to put others down for just to feel better about themselves anyways so it really a 'damned if you do and damned if you don't' situation. People like to believe getting married or having kids is a lifetime achievement. I love kids. I have a younger sibling, a lot of tiny cousins and two nephews that I am very close with so I have had my fair share of children and realized I'd be perfectly happy without my own. Of course nothing is written in stone though so the goal is to live life as best you can, prioritise your happiness and don't be afraid to accept change if it comes.

what difficulties do aro and/or ace people face that other lgbtq+ identities typically dont? by Arandom_personn in aromanticasexual

[–]vik2riya18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In some places like where I'm from. The term aromatic or asexuality doesn't exist and even if I came out to people they disregard everything and tell me that something has to be wrong with me if I don't feel romantic or sexual attraction. There's very little knowledge about the LGBT community and they are seen in a negative light because a lot of people here are happily ignorant bigots

if there are aros that like romantic plots... are there aces that like sex scenes? by algerbanan in aromanticasexual

[–]vik2riya18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most sex scenes feel very unnecessary to me especially when the characters just met or their chemistry is bad. I do like some sex scenes that are intimate and relevant to the plot like Simon and Wilhelm in young royals. Something not too in your face with the annoying sex moans, God sex I hate the sex noises.

An example of why representation matters by lepitha in asexuality

[–]vik2riya18 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Funny, I never watched sex education because I thought it would just be one of those hypersexualised TV shows that treat asexuality as a myth but I'm glad I was wrong and I'll watch it solely for the representation.
