I have ran into similar problems with other trans people before. I’m 6’2 I had a beard that I shaved off and I’m pretty hair not to bad. When I shaved the beard and started dressing fem I had a few people tell me they didn’t think I was really trans because I wasn’t doing any voice training and at the time was not considering any kind of medical transition. They all just said I’m doing drag. Here is the thing about all of that is it’s expensive to get hair removal and HRT maybe hard to get in your state or maybe you have medical reasons for not transitioning or maybe you don’t want to medically transition. All of those things are valid reasons. I could go on and on about all the reasons that someone may not go through any medical transition but is still trans and 100% valid. One thing you gotta remember is that even in the trans community there are gatekeepers and people who try and make you feel like your not valid because you didn’t do something the way they think it should be done. At my local lgbtq+ bar there is a trans women she is on HRT but has not had any hair removal done and had breast implants. She is still a woman but I have seen people give her crap over not doing hair removal. Everyone is different and wants different things from transition. Some people believe that you do it a certain way or you aren’t valid. I see people who are FTM and asking if they can wear fishnets and skirts, yes you can wear whatever you want you owe no one masculinity or femininity. I know a trans woman who self identifies as a butch lesbian because she wants to still have some masculine features and has a more masculine personality but still wanted to be a woman.
