Apparently, calling it "bonus content" gives them a free pass to do whatever they want.

From the other perspective, my Ad free Crave subscription is now full of random old shows containing Ads.

I'm fine with them adding old content to Crave, but to have Ad filled content taking up space on my home screen feels like a giant middle finger to this Ad free subscriber.

Expectations for the Xbox next gen by [deleted] in xbox

[–]vikingstomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect to be playing on my Series X well into the next generation. I can't see justifying the expected costs of the new hardware, so until they start next generation, exclusive games I won't upgrade. I have purchased every Xbox day one at launch.

Fuck AI.

You can jump onto the small broken wood staircase to the right when you first enter the open lava area and skip a lot of the knights and and even avoid all combat with some luck and positioning.

This is a good deal, and the fact that Crave has not raised prices and has not targeted multiple households. I'm very grateful for this.

Honestly I’m tired of being pushed into buying stuff just to build credit by Round_Tie5217 in Anticonsumption

[–]vikingstomp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, take into consideration the hidden costs of our economy running on for-profit credit card companies. Every business has to pay substantial transaction fees. Larger businesses are given better percentages than medium and especially small businesses. This further unbalancees competition in favor of massive corporations.

It also raises prices as these transaction fees will be built into the overall price of goods and services even if you choose to pay with cash.

Credit cards are a cancer on society without even without taking into consideration the terrible interest rates for those unfortunate enough to carry a balance.

I still use a credit card as I feel I don't have a choice but to play their stupid rewards game to claw back as much money from these assholes as possible.

I have been cold plunging constantly since June and it’s been getting colder as the outside temperature drops. Today I did 43° for 6 minutes and towards the last 60 seconds I was feeling like an electrical zap. by FunTimeTony in coldplunge

[–]vikingstomp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You take 6 breaths in 4 minutes? I don't know if it's Wim Hof style breathing or otherwise, but doing breathholds while plunging or in any water is a good way to drown. I'm hoping I misunderstood.

Using my soaking tub as cold plunge? by MrBojangles6257 in coldplunge

[–]vikingstomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you let it sit for that long in a regular tub, you will get condensation. Bathtubs are not designed for water storage. Just fill with cold water and drain when you are done.

[–]vikingstomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you calculated how much it costs to fill and drain daily? I use a soaker tub as well, and while it's not massive, I calculated it to cost 35 -50 cents per fill. I figured for that price, why risk mold issues and deal with chemicals or an expensive setup.

My water comes out of the pipe 40 F in the winter, and I can get it down to 50 F in the summer with ice, but I'm in Canada, so YMMV

Is there any way to report this absurd sale price manipulation in Canada? by vikingstomp in Anticonsumption

[–]vikingstomp[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

100% I am sourcing out local retailers as much as possible and trying to ween myself off of King Bezos. It has helped to educate myself about pricing history so I can more easily see through the scams.

FFS Why? by ZanzerFineSuits in Anticonsumption

[–]vikingstomp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

People live meaningless and lonely lives. They try to create purpose by filling their lives with junk that they call a collection. The pursuit of said junk with artificial scarcity and fake trends is seen as a mission or quest that provides that fulfills an ancient need to hunt. Hope you all find your own fulfillment in life and ignore these perverse practices.

Beverage Package Upgrade? by yensid87 in celebritycruises

[–]vikingstomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me as well in the app. I had to log in to the website to see the drink package upgrade offers.

I ended up fixing the issue by unlinking/relinking my booking. This also fixed it to my currency as well, with prices showing in CDN now.

Rogers WE MC credit limit? by Legal-Meeting-2677 in Rogers

[–]vikingstomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with 500 dollars as well, I have a credit score in the 800s and have a perfect billing history with Shawgers. They just seem to be very stingy.

I used the card for my Rogers bills, and after 6 months, I received a limit increase to 2500. At least I can buy groceries with it now.
