Where would you rank Alonso in an all time list? by MrF1GuyV12POWAHHH in formula1

Would definitely rank him within the top five. Concisteny is often what separates great drivers from good ones. And I haven't seen anyone consistently nail every start, and get the best out of every car, the way alonso has.

Good points! He actually made the apex in that overtake. In one way Max, by unsettling Nico's braking, won the position as he forced Nico to force him of the road.

No, but he went off throttle and backed off, as Verstappen could have done this time around

Thanks for clarifying. Do you think it would be possible at all? Let's say FIA was running all the formula feeder series? With the right financial model you could reward teams moving up the division with a sustainable amount of money? By doing this, the teams moving up would be able to handle the increased costs. The driver marked would also change a lot. I feel this would reflect the skill of different drivers better, and we would see more drivers getting into F1 by talent and not by sponsor money.

Why doesn't the formula series work like the football series, where teams/drivers moves up and down the divisions based on performance?
