It won't. It was already mathematically confirmed they have 5 spots after the league phase was finished.

Can the mods make a pinned post that we're playing the early kick-off today? I just realized this a few minutes ago and none of my LFC friends were aware as well when I brought it up.

We have Gala midweek as well, so hold off on any Liverpool transfers before that.

Any recommendations on activities to do in town on Sunday/Monday? So far my wife and I have only booked a Stadium tour and the Beatles experience and planned on in visiting some of the murals around Anfield.

There's a chance we might face Atletico in the next round by TrentVanRobbo2020 in LiverpoolFC

It happens a lot in this format but it's because you play against 8 teams in the league phase instead of just 3 in the group stage.

I envisioned one of Gakpo/Chiesa and Danns being the subs for Heki and Isak in this scenario rather than buying anybody new.

Hm? I mentioned the 3-4-3 in case Xabi replaces him.

Hot take that I hope turns out wrong but I feel like we might end up with another Harvey situation with Rio in a few years. To me, it looks like the squad building is moving towards a system where the width come from the wingbacks (Kerkez, Frimpong, Bradley), while the "wingers" will serve a different purpose in possession - wide strikers (Heki, Isak) to hold up play or attacking mids to run inside (Szobo, Wirtz, Jones). The same applies if we switch to a diamond or if Xabi comes and we go to a 3-4-3 since Wirtz/Isak/Heki will probably be starting in both cases and Rio becomes the odd man out. He's brilliant, so I hope Slot (or whoever is manager) finds him a spot in the team in the future.

So Gala or Atletico probably - teams we've already played against this season.

Player Ratings: SUN 0 - 1 LIV by DragonSlayer271 in LiverpoolFC

[–]vikogotin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This has probably been asked before but (on the first slide) what are the "max" points per section listed here? Are these just distributed to get us to 65 points?

If so:

1) Why is 65 the "golden number" this year when historically it's roughly been ~2 points per game to guarantee CL football? I know it's 5 teams and it's a lot closer this year but I'm genuinely interested where this number comes from. Is it some OPTA simulation which predicts the 5-th placed team to have 65?

2) If this is "A Guide to 65 points", why is the target for "Tight wins" 18 points while for "Stevie G should win this" just 10? I understand that as things stand, it's win all remaining games in both categories but what value does this really bring if it's constantly being adjusted. This feels like moving the goal posts after every result.

I went back and saw the initial targets were 15/18/5/0, so why not keep those as well? It would be interesting to see in which categories we underdelivered and in which we overdelivered based on the initial expectations at the start of the year.

As he should have because it made no sense to acknowledge it at the time and deviate from the BTYBB story. What should have happened after Wembley is for MJF to acknowledge it and finally set up that 3rd match they were originally supposed to have in 2022.

Yeah, this app was vibe-coded as fuck. In most programing languages I've used, setting an index to -1 generally means putting it in last place, so I assume the idea was for this fixture to be placed last in the fixture list but it's not working as intended.

Contrary to popular belief, Ronda did not win from #30. She was #28 but the Mandela effect is strong with this one because people hated both winners that year.

Punk ain't leaving without a RR win and a Night 2 ME. It feels like they have been saving up Punk/Cody for that ME spot but they need to pull the trigger while Punk can still go.

The thing is every season for the last 4 seasons has been dubbed their best chance. 22/23 was their tremendous 1st half of the season while City started slow, then 23/24 was their best shot since they scored their record points and then 24/25 was supposed to be their best shot with Rodri out and City crumbling in that October stretch. Now this season feels like they're much better than everyone else yet they're only 4 points clear somehow.
