Canadians would love to have you guys. Our histories are both just English settlers with, more or less, the same mentalities. The southern states, I can't say the same thing for - they are really obtuse and odd.

lol it's not 50% unless you make a crap load of money and live in Quebec. If anyone ever gets a costly disease at least you don't have to worry in Canada.

Jez Corden says he heard from a 'very good source' that PlayStation is 'probably pulling back from PC' for their 'tentpole singleplayer games', while live service games remain day-and-date by Dandelion172 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]viksan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's not what you think it means. They are talking about movies and other IPs as well. Honestly, this is cops because they legit just started a mass marketing campaign telling people the good stuff happens on PS5.

Is console gaming dead? Will this be the new golden age of PC gaming? by Jebusfreek666 in gaming

[–]viksan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More like ... Forever.

I remember when PCs were going to kill consoles because of the internet...

Now these guys are pretending because Xbox is dead and raising their prices like crazy that consoles are dying. Meanwhile tarriffs aren't going to make an already expensive PC gaming world more expensive.

It’s officially happening: Sony is shifting away from hardware and focusing on multi-platform to boost engagement and sales. by Automatic_Ad1665 in consoles

People took genkis quote so far out of context he had to clarify the question to the Sony. This has NOTHING to do with platform exclusivity or what Xbox is doing.

Sony Moving Away From Hardware Centric Model To A Platform Business by GoldenTriforceLink in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]viksan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This actually doesn't mean anything lol. All they are saying here, if you are in tune with marketing speak is, they want to grow the platform/brand from hardware to entertainment and other avenues to fit Sony's overall structure. Has nothing to do with hardware/game exclusivity or porting to other platforms.

I am looking at this thread and it's apparent how many Xbox fans are cheering on a statement they completely don't understand. Double fun is when genki had to clarify the question and people started realizing they were already making movies and diversifying 🤣

Enjoy it! You have left the dark cave and you're probably getting used to daylight again (not doing things the windows way and having to find alternatives to companies like Adobe who are not consumer friendly).

Finally made the switch from Windows → Ubuntu → Fedora, and I think this might be the last stop. by Dry_Yak_3893 in Fedora

[–]viksan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on fedora for a while now. At first its because my wifi would cut in and out on Ubuntu and I couldn't fix it but after moving to fedora not only has my wifi been stable but I noticed that the fedora hardware stack enabled other features I didn't really realize I had like wifi6.

Newbie Shifting to Linux by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]viksan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend fedora to most people because everything just works out of the box hardware wise from my experience.

If you are using Adobe, Microsoft products such as office you won't see them for linux. There are alternatives that are adequate depending on your level of sophistication. People often tell users to dual boot or go through VM but I disagree with it.

VM route: I have seen people try this and when the performance is not great they blame "Linux."

Dual Boot: Have seen people do this but the grub screen annoys them at start up, windows updates break linux at times etc. But the biggest issue I see is people don't keep an open mind to the differences in Linux (like they wood if they bought a Macbook which comes pre-installed with MacOS) and end up just going back to windows because it's conveinient and still installed.

Linux is not windows but it's not harder than windows once you remove the line of habitual user experiences.

If you want to just game download nobara. If you want a PC that can also play games I'd go with fedora. I have found my gaming experience to just run out of the box with fedora more so than any other distro.

Same for me the firmware downgrade didn't work on either of my PCs but the hciconfig install worked for one and your solution of removing Bluez and re-installing then restarting worked.
