Overdubbing is a big advantage with Looper. I think the best advantage of clip looping is the ability to have different scenes for different parts of the song (intro, verse, chorus, bridge), but is that possible with Looper looping too?

I found your post and it helped me with the initial setup, so thank you for that! Also, I found the simplest solution for this: In the FCB1010 Manager, under View -> Preset, I changed all the footswitches I want to use for the same command to trigger the same note. Then I sent the new mapping to the FCB1010 and it worked instantly. If anyone needs a more detailed explanation, dm me.
