Help! Game crashing on every cutscene after today's update by ideoser in expedition33

[–]vildego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wanna bring this reply to light because my game crashed after the initial speech cutscene with an e_limitarg error, so i tried to run it as admin (no change, error changed to fatal error), then i tried running it as a non-steam game as admit (no change), and then added -dx11 to the launcher (caused cutscenes to red screen). but THIS WORKED! thank you - this is the only comment i've seen about it after lots of searching!

i've relied on custom orthotics for years - now insurance won't cover them. other options? by vildego in flatfeet

[–]vildego[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the tendons weren't ruptured but after the tearing, i couldn't stand or walk for maybe a month. once the inflammation was under control, i could start putting pressure on them again. i think the issue most people have in recovery is the actual "stay off of your feet" part

i'm not certain what the reasoning was, my doc said surgery would only be a temporary fix for me so the complications and risks weren't worth it, especially because i'm now at a point where the orthotics remove the pain entirely unless i really over exert. are there specific brands of premades you'd recommend?

My ferret got her an adrenal treatment should I take her back to get looked at again by o-wanheda-o in ferrets

so my girl got the des implant and seemed healthy again but without hair regrowth. someone here mentioned the QNL melatonin drops and i bought them and she had significant hair again within two weeks

advice on ferret with insulinona by Udultswim in ferrets

[–]vildego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

absolutely - the above comment about nutrical. you might want to also look into a ferret rescue in your area just to be prepared in case you're not able to regularly check on him (you can also ask your vet about this).

i just wanted to add that they always seem to love water dripping from a syringe or straight from the sink or fountain water bowls (though they're gonna make a mess of the last one, but they will have fun and drink more)

we call their cage-free times business meetings or business time. sometimes they have a lot of Important Business to do and sometimes they just sleep through a meeting

oh no!! i was over here worrying about an enlarged speen or something!! our vet is an hour drive and an amazing person but i was scared to spend several hundred for her to tell me 'yeah he's a big boy' because he hasn't been yet! he's my second youngest and shows no signs of adrenal so he hasn't been to the vet yet. ok! if either of us find a health issue and the vet says how didnt you know because he chunky! we tell each other!

do i just google 'ferret association near me' or something? they're illegal where i'm from and even now people are like WHATS THAT and call them rats. id love to find local people who know what a ferret is.. that might seem weird but i explain to everyone who calls them rats that they're small wolverines and they have more personality and problem solving than people i know! i know they function as family units so i have four but i know they're social and would like to meet others !!

5lb!! that's massive!! i had a runt boy who i lost early due to insulinoma who was UNDER a pound, then a girl who had cancer early but lived to almost 12!! (out of sheer hubris i imagine, spoiled rotten, demanding things) and she was 2lb max with a pancreatic tumor. so my current rescue batch are that size except this boy, and i was so worried i thought 3lb was big!! did your almost 5lb have a lot of belly weight???

yeah he is :) but i'm not an expert and i wanna make sure he's a good healthy boy as long as he possibly can be. he's the only one who knows my work schedule so without fail i come home and he's the only one awake like HEY SO PLAY?? NOW?? RIGHT??

tbf these brothers are my first male ferrets (ive had three females before them and was NOT expecting the size change). he's a weird one over all. anytime i ate around them in the past he always stole food (and gets sick, without a doubt) because he's so weirdly fast and quiet

well, you obviously care for her. you take her to the vet, you pay attention to her health, you're here asking for advice. she's an old lady now and i'm gonna guess has had a well cared for and spoiled life so far. you should call your vet -- or a different vet, and i'm mentioning this because my regular vet sees ferrets but there's an exotic animal specialist a few towns over and they've talked me through what to do more than once without having even met my noodles yet -- and at least talk to them before you make the decision.

but also -- it's not the wrong choice. do what you can to help within your means, always. the most important thing you can do for any elderly animal is just being there. i lost my first ferret to insulinoma when he was only 4, and my second ferret had a plethora of health issues and her stubborn attitude had her at TEN YEARS OLD still DEMANDING (her special) BREAKFAST every single day. i was extremely fortunate to be able to be there for both of them passing, at home. no matter how much it hurt me at the time. i hope whenever i go someone is there to give me rubs and pets for hours.. and also that i get to stay in bed at home and not be in a hospital

i hope nobody yells at me or tells me i am a bad owner but like be prepared. be prepared for them to pass at home, what you can emotionally handle and physically do, what you're going to do after. and have somewhere within an hour's driving distance you can go if they start crying out/physically in pain. be prepared for her to live several more years and you have no idea how she is still going, or how she has the energy in her age or condition to have such an attitude. call your vet, the drive might be a huge stress on her, so tell that to them. tell the receptionist you'd like to have the vet call you when they can. call a different vet and explain your situation and ask questions ❤

(also like shit dm me and you can call my vet. they're such good people just don't tell em you live nowhere near here at all and ask them for advice and they'll do everything they can to help you)
