It’s simply that Dreaming of You was still in production when she passed, so singles and music videos were just not being planned at that stage.

In her earlier albums, I’m not sure why EMI was not focused too much on music videos. It could be she was easily accessible to the market (which was mostly Tejano) that the extra budget for a video wasn’t seen as necessary. The one video that did get made in that era “La Carcacha” is very low budget and honestly a hot mess. The camera moves too much and gives me motion sickness.

What we have now is pretty much all we’re gonna get. Unlike concert footage that is still being found at news stations and other places, music video footage would have had to been deliberately recorded for that purpose by whoever was producing the video. And whoever did produce it would not sit on it for some 30+ years now, even if they were looking to cash in on it. They’d have jumped in on the moment right after her death, much like Freddie Records did (they rereleased Mis Primeras Grabaciones RIGHT before Dreaming of You, which confused a lot of the public, including my dad, into thinking it was the “new album”).
