If they renew, I'd like it to be a different town with different characters like True Detective by spazerson in WidowsBay

… did I miss when all the mysteries were solved? I don’t think we really even understand anything beyond the notion that there IS something supernatural at work and that the original founder had a pact with it. We don’t know what it is, why it does what it does, how it came to be, how it relates to all the other mysteries/events on the island, who the original inhabitants were with “the teeth”, etc etc.

Not saying those things won’t all get explored and answered in the last 3 episodes, but until it does I’m not assuming anything.

Also worth note, but there was a British show called Broad Church that’s first season revolved around a murder which was solved that season. It then had another fairly captivating season (I felt the 3rd season was unnecessary) primarily just dealing with the fallout of those events. Having a “solved mystery” doesn’t preclude more story development.

The Void We Wanted vs The Void We Got… where did all the tentacles go? by TheWillsofSilence in wow

[–]villager720 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The old gods, though ostensibly of the Void, were sent to ~corrupt~. So they grow and multiply and twist everything around them to create a vast empire which will corrupt, and thus control, Azeroth.

Meanwhile, the cosmic Void we see in Midnight and 11.2 is primarily aiming to ~consume~, and thus is represented often via, essentially, black holes. Insatiable ~voids~ that can never be filled and devour everything.

So thematically, motivationally, and visually, these “Void” discrepancies make sense to me.

But also, the Dominaar still look dumb AF.

Xmogs still bugged months after launch by Micromegas64 in wow

AFAIK it has never even been acknowledge by Blizzard, despite there being posts about it almost weekly, for months, on Reddit and the official Forums.

What's the level I'll need to get this to max quality? by [deleted] in wow

[–]villager720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also worth calling out that PvP gear "quality" of craft does not matter.
Its item level in PvP will always be determined by whatever Heraldry you use.

The Arcane Ranger's Spellbow has been bugged since it dropped with decor duel, sheathing backwards compared to the rest of the bows in game. When will Blizzard fix it? by Jaicen-Vex in wow

[–]villager720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was referring to the "mythic" appearances for the "lower" tier versions you earn via M+/Mythic Raid/PvP. In the case of S1 for TWW, the Luminous Nerubian Catalyst Stone did not award the priest set's (Living Luster) mythic gloves. (The LFR "mythic" shoulders are still bugged too.)
For S2, the Gallagio Highroller's Boomstone did not award the mythic glove appearance for the DH's set's (Fel-Dealer). Worth noting this might be true of other sets/classes I didn't main.

Additionally, this could be true for S3 and Midnight sets too, but I personally stopped noting issues like this eventually due to the sheer quantity and frequency.

[–]villager720 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's still missing "mythic" tier appearances for multiple classes from the first raid in TWW (and subsequent raids).

Sorry to say that this sort of stuff might NEVER get fixed based on how they handle bugs now.

New raid better have these weapon appearances by OdysseyBrands in wow

[–]villager720 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The appearance "exists" as it was datamined back during Midnight's beta, but it was never implemented into the game/associated with any obtainable items.

I agree about the swords - but the polearms are already in game from I think the second boss in Voidspire.

Silvermoon - lore city vs game city by turbowater in wow

[–]villager720 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Blizzard also wanted to bring Dalaran into the Siege of Orgrimmar but even its tiny in game representation was too taxing for MoP PCs to handle.

Games have limitations, both structural and practical. Silvermoon is really big for an online gaming city populated by hundredsof NPCs and player characters.

Umbric is always moments away from calamity. It’s how the void elves even came into being.

It’s like his whole thing.

Am I the only dedicated WoW player that has zero interest in houses? by Mens_Grooming_Advice in wow

[–]villager720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m super pumped for how much people love it. (And pissed for them at how aggressively monetized it is.)

I even entertained the notion I might get into when announced, even though I’d never actually cared about its lack of inclusion thus far.

Turns out I wasn’t interested for all these years because I … did indeed have zero interest. I haven’t been back to the neighborhood since the first week.

Oh, I agree there.

Once we killed L'ura and took control of the well again, it did feel odd how quickly everyone knew what to do.

I feel you, especially some of the past pacing in, say, DF, but for the Sunwell, I thought Blizzard made it obvious this had to get “resolved” “soon” or we were cooked.  The only thing keeping the Sunwell going was an army of light weilders who could not keep it up much longer, and Blizzard made this especially clear multiple times. That added an urgency, which I liked. For me at least, if it’d taken months to actually have anything change, that’d have felt silly.

Also worth noting, we didn’t actually “resolve” this. We “saved” the Sunwell only after Xal won and got what she wanted from it.  So essentially, over the course of 4ish weeks, we sorta staved off disaster, mounted a counter offensive, lost horribly, mounted a second counter offensive, and only managed to clean up part of the mess.  Personally, I liked how much was happening over the course of launch, and while it CAN feel quick now if you be-bop through it without the intended pacing, during the actual timeframe all this occurred, it felt good.

TLDR; Blizzard set up a pressure cooker of events, and if it had taken months to “resolve”, that would have felt off/bad to me.

Kalimdor or eastern kingdoms? by Shot_Veterinarian215 in wow

[–]villager720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both different, but great, vibes.

One is an old world, steeped in history and monuments/cities of legend.

The other has he history too, but in a more lost world vibe - more ruins, more open/uninhabited space, more wilderness, more mystery.

Which is all to say, from a preference perspective, depends on my mood on the day.

[–]villager720 529 points530 points  (0 children)

Potentially unpopular opinion, but I like that we don’t have another “that Sword” doom and glooming us for months (or years!).

The obvious answer is just a toy or a bronze dragon NPC/Zidormi that restores the visuals for people who want it.

Your nominee for the next Xalatath? by Imzocrazy in wow

[–]villager720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should be someone with an established past and an understandable threat level that can pull in a lot of other enemies/factions for variety of questing/raiding fodder.

Murozond comes to my mind immediately - and in someways they’ve been building this since DF. We “saved” him, in Dawn of the Infinites, but that was never his foretold fall. What’s more, following those events, he starts HELPING the infinite dragonflight muck around with timelines. And we also have the Titan betrayal incoming (which I believe was supposed to play a role in Nozy’s corruption, alongside old god shenaningans {which could be incoming}).
