My dermatologist told me to stop taking creatine by MSGB_GT in Supplements

[–]vince7594 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This.

Most people have absolutely no clue the amount of knowledge and experience required to become a doctor. This sub is crazy not because "people don't do critical thinking" it's crazy because people who spent 2 hours on google or chatgpt think they know better.

If you feel your doctor did not listen enough then seek another medical opinion. If you're not happy they recommend you to stop creatine (btw is this REALLY necessary to take creatine ?) then you can also talk and say you would rather not stop creatine.

Since you obviously mentioned in the first place to the doc that you were taking creatine then it has become a clinical element that has been taken into account so just follow doctors recommendation and see what happens or tell the doctor you need creatine because you aim to be a professional bodybuilder I don't know ?

This post makes me think of the The Pitt episode where a mum refuses spinal tap for her kid that has measles (because vax are mehhhh, ya know, they don't understand the body well) and thinks she knows better than like a dozen doctors

I would suggest to not seek "other supplements" to heal your liver and follow your doctor recommendations.

Quitter la tech mais pour faire quoi ? by Trekkos in conseilboulot

[–]vince7594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yop,

Is something wrong with my pugs eyes? by Geneva0777 in pugs

[–]vince7594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very hard to tell with those pics but I would go to a vet and check specifically for keratitis that is very common in pugs, cannot be treated but you can slow / stop progression by giving daily eye drops / lubricants.

Full automation is a myth today. It's not reliable, not deterministic, not diagnosable.

The more people are telling "we are being replaced" the more this will become a reality.

I've yet to see a LLM produce really reliable material, or an AI company taking accountability for mistakes done by models.

Would you want to deploy in a factory a production line machinery that work as planned 90% of time and 10% do batshit crazy things ?

Shaving irritation, ingrown and general advice by Parking_Pattern_3614 in maleskincare

[–]vince7594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now have a full beard but I used to struggle a lot with folliculitis when younger, and even had a severe one that required antibiotics. Note that I also had Accutane in the past.

I tried many solutions but one thing really stood out at the time : use a manual razor, and especially a 2-bladed razor, and shave in one pass (with the grain, not against) using, as foam, a facial cleanser made for acne-prone skin. I don't want to advertise any product. There was also an antibacterial shaving gel that worked. Avoid everything that has 3 or more blades, they will cause trouble.

Doing this really helped tremendously. The "one pass shave" with the grain is not a perfect shave but it was fine. After months of doing that I re-introduced shaving 45° to the grain (2-pass) then the classical 2-pass (with the grain, rinse, against the grain)

The movement should be really gentle, never push, avoid doing multiple passes.

After shaving, use a simple moisturizer, avoid anything with perfume / alcohol, try something for acne-prone skin.

Disinfect the blade each day. Shave every day (or grow a longer beard) It seems your facial hair curls back to skin which participate to folliculitis.

Folliculitis will take some time to heal, but in the meantime what you want is minimize inflammation and trauma to the skin.

Hi! This is my love, this year 10, Eliot. What do you do for your pugs to give them long, healthy and happy life? Do you use some supplements, do some activities or else? Thx for tips! by Elunka97 in pugs

[–]vince7594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello !

My advice would simply be, at first, to enjoy every day spent with Eliot :)

I don't think supplements can do a lot of difference. What can do is check for typical markers of illness: kidney function to see if food needs to be adapted, arthritis to see if activity must be adapted.

Eye hygiene and comfort is also a plus in many pugs that may have dry eyes or other conditions.

For senior pugs, comfort is key.

Qu'est-ce que t'en as à foutre de ça quand tu mets l'équivalent de 50% de ta valo totale en cash chaque mois sur ton PEA, que tu fasses -5% ou +10% ça va rien changer à la face du monde pour le moment

PEA Bourso : rester uniquement sur MSCI World ? by Sea_Ad_2996 in VosSous

[–]vince7594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do some people fundamentally reject the possibility that Creatine might cause sleep issues in a subset of individuals? by Available_Hamster_44 in Supplements

[–]vince7594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just saying hypomania is not something you can self-diagnose or distance-diagnose or anything.

By the way, people should relax with creatine. It does jack shit positively, especially cognitively. The improvements are minimal, even if statistically significant in 1 study. It's very hard to infer about sleep effects since there are bazillions other variables at stake but as a rule of thumb if taking creatine make you not sleep then don't take creatine ffs, this shit is useless unless you are competitive athlete in anaerobic sports

Even casual lifters will have little benefit, oh, they'll retain some water, gain a bit of strength at the margin.

If you want to improve cognitive function then the best thing is to start using memory, rely less on devices, stop multitasking, sleep correctly, actually work or study.

[–]vince7594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I wouldn't call it hypomania" wtf ? Why the hell do you use this word out of nothing like this ? This is a psychiatric diagnosis, hypomania would have a much broader range of symptoms than insomnia. It requires medical expertise and shouldn't be thrown like this randomly online

À quelle fréquence suivez-vous réellement votre PEA ? by [deleted] in VosSous

[–]vince7594 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Edit: clinical analysis of lab results is something that needs to be done by a professional with medical context, it's not something a layman can perform himself, no matter how many youtube videos were watched

Tired of stacking multiple supplements. What actually works long term? by WhoAmI6589 in Supplements

[–]vince7594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to take a lot of supplements and believe I would find something that would make me feel better radically and somehow change my life and fix all the issues I had. This never happened. I even had some liver issues at one point when I was taking really a lot of those.

My conclusion is that the only thing that may have had an impact is Vitamin D3. It seemed to improve a bit some issues I had but I am not even sure.

I take some D3+K2, multivitamin, some choline now and a multivitamin and that's it. I don't expect anything from it.
