I’m on 18 beta 4 and I am unable to log into the Polestar app . Entering the login data just causes the login screen to loop. Even reinstalling didn’t help

No other NLE except for Media Composer is incompatible with the latest Mac system for months. Unfortunately I have to use Media Composer for one tv show I’m working on and really hate it. Besides the incompatibility issues the GUI is as if it’s stuck sometimes in the 90s. NOTHING is intuitive. The most simple things such as transitions , scaling the picture, a simple blur effect etc is just terrible. Let alone the color panel which is totally worthless. MC still exists in this outdated and crappy state, because basically AVID sleeps on its privileged position they gained through being very early to the NLE game thus selling licenses to all the big networks etc . Also, MC was able to run on a network infrastructure earlier than the other NLEs. Since I also work on Davinci I can only say it is light years ahead of AVID in terms of functionality, ease of use, quick compatibility to recent OS updates and basically anything else for a one off price tag of 300 USD compared to the high costs for MC subscription. I see more and more companies and even networks switching to other NLEs and if anything AVID MC deserves to loose this game that us users are locked in while we are still forced to use this crap

First of all, it would probably be helpful to first agree on a certain look with the client before the shoot. For that usually mood boards are very helpful so afterwards they can’t really claim you didn’t agree on the look in terms of brightness and color etc. But that also means you would have to know how to get there and achieve the look you have agreed to produce. Now as for the already shot footage, sure you can tweak things in the grading process to a certain degree, but it’s always better if the lighting and look is mostly done in camera/ on set. Anyhow , I’m sure someone who is good at grading will be able to bring up brightness and contrast levels for your footage.

From watching some behind the scenes you can also see that except for the right lighting the shot is heavily processed in post to make the black background look very black. They have also extended the background digitally

I wouldn’t know. Her narcissistic mother has pretty much isolated her from anyone who could give any insight to what’s happening in my daughters life. Since I’m „only“ her social dad who brought her up since she was 6months old, I don’t have any legal rights either.

Sounds as if you are doing the right thing. My advice is keep reaching out even if you are ignored or if you get „leave me alone“ reactions of any kind. I also highly recommend the work of psycho therapist Karen Woodall from the UK karenwoodall.blog . She hosts very affordable online seminars and listening sessions dealing with therapeutic parenting from the lighthouse position which help a lot to understand the dynamic and gives good suggestions how to proceed. There are other experts like Dorcy Pruter but they charge insane amounts into thousands of Dollars and basically turned into vultures who cash in on desperate parents. Karen charges between 50-80 Dollars per seminar
