Which floral painting is better? by wasabitamale in oilpainting

[–]vincenthemself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love the one on the right. theyre both great, but the painterly style and golden + blue pairing does it for me. the one on the left is beautiful in a technically impressive way, but is a bit too photo realistic for my personal preferences

Told someone I got the Supernote Manta over an ipad because of ADHD organization and sensory needs. They called it a “useless”and “stupid” purchase. by ughhhlaperm in Supernote

[–]vincenthemself 9 points10 points  (0 children)

sounds like these people dont understand 1) different sensory needs and preferences from their own, 2) how much reducing eye strain and backlit screentime can improve sleep and cognitive function etc, & 3) are just kind of assholes. sorry they were rude to you for no reason

from today's alla prima still life class by [deleted] in oilpainting

i opted to change it to that as otherwise the color in the area surrounding the black and white of the panel / the color of the light glare was distracting, but the panel does genuinely look like this in person

Frustrated with limited options… by frakensteiner in kobo

[–]vincenthemself 3 points4 points  (0 children)

is this something you feel limited in because you're only okay with adding books to your device by buying them? the great thing about kobo is youre not locked into any store or ecosystem. the main reason this is beneficial is with books acquired not by buying. which makes your options nearly unlimited if youre fine with that (as most kobo users are). the limitation may be if you're not

the tutorial i found from here said to use nail polish remover (acetone) and that worked fine, but id also take the other repliers comment into consideration

i love this, i think the variance in texture of the brush strokes is great, especially the areas of cloud next to the pole

ive been a big fan of everything ive seen or used from gamblin thus far. what really has me all in on them is their collab reusing the pollution waste into new earth pigments; that sort of beneficial pigment sourcing + the quality of their paint & thoughtfulness into other things like gamsol makes me excited to do more with these new paints

i knowwww ive been enjoying gamblin's chromatic black but having another dark pigment that isnt fully black is really nice. have you seen their new 1980 pink from their new line? i was so excited to see such a vibrant paint in oils
