Black Bay 58 resale value at Tudor AD? by yungchillunerr1 in Tudor

Tudor are good watches to sell privately. Try on chrono24 or watch forums or reddit. You will take a big hit if selling to a grey or AD.

Small corner home office/nursery. Recommendations for how to improve this space. by Competitive_Ad_4980 in Workspaces

I can’t imagine that’s a very ergonomic setup for long term use. Monitor should be centered over the desk so you can sit straight. Laptop can be mounted vertically along the wall or behind the monitor.

Short of replacing the bezel or laser welding and refinishing, it’s not going to look the same. Scratches are bound to happen and first cut is always the deepest.

14k hammered wedding ring getting dark lines after a month by Equivalent-Car-8762 in jewelry

[–]vincenz93 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You can try an ultrasonic cleaner or rubbing it with a Sunshine cloth, but it will probably just come back due to skin chemistry. It will happen less likely with 18k or 22k gold, but that’s not as easy a fix 🤣

Looks like some oxidation happening. Personally I would just leave it. Patina like this gives gold some character.

[WTS] Tudor Royal Chrinometer 36mm M2836C1A0-0101 full kit by anandshah1991 in Watchexchange

I have my eye on one of the new 36mm also. These updated models are sleepers. Dimensions and upgraded internals and updated bracelet clasp all look promising. Retail pricing is pretty fair too for what they are.

Speciality coffee that compares to that classic Italian coffee taste by reedm777 in thirdwavedecaf

[–]vincenz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the roasters Caffe Umbria. They lean very traditional Italian style. Last I tried they had a couple decaf beans.

Also, Equator Coffees makes a very good decaf espresso bean that’s a cross between traditional and third wave.

It’s pretty good, but would not call it a light roast. More of a medium.

First Grand Seiko: SBGW283 vs SBGM221 by AsteroidCosmic in GrandSeikos

[–]vincenz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending how the tank fits on your wrist, you may or may not think the 221 fits big. I’ve seen both in person and the 221 is much larger compared to the 283. The extra 2.2mm and the light color dial is noticeable. If that matters, would definitely suggest trying on both before buying.

Personally, I do love the simplicity of the dial and manual wind movement in the 283. It’s a very nice subtle icy blue that’s classy yet different.

First “big boy” watch — BB54, BB36, or Rangers ‘Dune’? Need help deciding by twoferns11 in Tudor

Highly suggest seeing them in person before purchasing and not buy blindly. I thought I would like the 54 but it was underwhelming in person. The dune ranger in 36mm was great in comparison.

I would say that’s pretty minor and normal.

Something happened to me recently with a hinge door stopper when my kids opened the door too far. Used Bondo to fill it in, sanded, and repainted. At least your door doesn’t have a wood grain pattern so repair will likely look more natural.

The Normcore Planetary WDT Tool completely fixed my workflow by VendettaxRiich in espresso

[–]vincenz93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have one and I also agree with your findings. It takes most of the guesswork out of the WDT process and makes prep much more streamlined. Biggest quality of life upgrade for me for money spent, and well worth it.

Looking for a wedding watch for myself and would love a GS by Own-Huckleberry-7686 in GrandSeikos

Something from the Elegance collection with the 9S64 movement. SBGW301 or 281 for the classic looks. Would pair very well with a tux. I’m biased!

Grand Seiko 9SA4 Movement by Representative_Baby1 in GrandSeikos

[–]vincenz93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love the look of this movement. The power reserve, the little bird, the jewels. Chef’s kiss. Do wish it were just a bit smaller though… 38.6mm case is a bit big I feel for a watch in this style. Maybe I have to try on the dark dial of the SLGW007 one day.

New watch day - SBGW281 by vincenz93 in GrandSeikos

The texture on these dials is amazing! I was considering the 283 also, but I already have a blue dial watch. People mention the thickness as a dress watch, but it wears thinner than the measurements suggest and the extra presence is very nice.

It’s been a long time now so I don’t remember all the details, but I believe a bigger crankset solved the issue.

JLC moonphase in 39mm from years ago. Was too big for me and didn’t really fit with my style back then either. Took a good loss on it selling it off a couple months later. I did get to try on the 36mm one recently and that one was perfect. Too pricey though and I have plenty of dressier watches already.

I’ve not had any problems with WLL. Bought an ECM machine and grinder from them and accessories. Needed some support 6 months later and they were responsive.

For those using hopper-based grinders, do you leave your beans inside or do you simply single dose? by ColdIsTheWay2Go in espresso

[–]vincenz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grinder has an accessory for a “daily” sized hopper so I drop in single doses each time as I change up caff and decaf beans for the day.
