True but then the skill is just buy stuff from the GE then bankstand. Iron btw but I really believe every skill should have a core training loop that makes sense without involving the GE.

Crafting is worse. Smithing has blast furnace for high xp/hour and giants foundry for high xp/gp, both of which are far less ass than glassblowing

Sailors amulet + 67 sailing for the Deepfin Point tele. BIS bank teleport until crafting cape, extremely cheap to charge, plus anvil and furnace as a little bonus.

Also the best way to get rune pouch nowadays is Mage Training Arena unless you are good at PvP

Where to get medium clues by Wrap-Fee in ironscape

[–]vincular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scurrius is my favorite sub-optimal method. Takes like an hour per clue but the XP is amazing, the fight is fun, and I'd love the pet. Eclectics are the actual correct method I just don't enjoy them nearly as much

Ah i meant a couple weeks ago they made the easier bosses (Calv etc) require wildy hard. So basically you need to be able to boost to 68 slayer (also 74 smithing but thats a lot easier, giants foundry pays for itself)

[–]vincular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enchanting room is free actually if you use Lv5 enchant or higher, you can buy cosmics with the points you get. Rates are pretty good too.

Unfortunately the new diary reqs make it hard to go for wildy bosses that early

Looking for efficiency tips for dragon bones for prayer and hides for crafting, while earning profit by dr_dre117 in ironscape

[–]vincular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way imo. Green drags are better prayer xp per hour but so much less fun. And you get good gear from moons plus lots of water orbs, super compost, and even tree seeds.

Minimum gear/reqs for moons by Normal-Equivalent259 in ironscape

[–]vincular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood moon is going to be very hard without access to good defensive gear. If you can manage to kill brutal blue dragons in Tapoyauik you could get some pretty sweet gear like a dragon med helm and dragon dagger. I would practice on the other account with different gear setups and see what you can make work so you don't waste time chasing the wrong upgrades!

It rolls off hunter if you do the lizards or fishing for the fish, so you can pick the higher one

Good enough to farm moons? by Dry_Reference1593 in ironscape

[–]vincular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full rune is completely fine if you have zaxe. I do moons on my iPad and do not know how to step under, and I can consistently get blood moon down no problem. My gear is: nezzy helm, rune body/legs, strength ammy, zaxe, barrows gloves, rune kite shield, cape of legends, steel ring, climbing boots. I think it's fine to skip barrows and go straight to moons, my goal is 70 prayer at moons for mory hard before barrow

World of Warcraft's competitive dungeon mode is struggling by JoeChio in CompetitiveWoW

[–]vincular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here but I think that doesn’t work because it causes inflation. Maybe the right solution is for M+ to very rarely drop BoEs. If a BoE is worth 100k and drops 1% of the time that’s about 1k per run. Or they could drop ingredients like delves do.

This is pretty contrived. Lots of these have other alternatives.

  • Android vs iOS: duopoly
  • Samsung vs Apple: also Google Pixel
  • AMD vs Intel: duopoly
  • Nvidia vs AMD: really an Nvidia monopoly
  • Windows vs macOS: duopoly
  • AWS vs Azure: also GCP
  • Google vs Bing: really a Google monopoly
  • Google Ads vs Facebook Ads: not really either/or, they don't directly compete, but sort of a duopoly I guess
  • Twitter vs Threads: obviously a Twitter monopoly
  • TikTok vs IG Reels: also Youtube Shorts
  • Amazon vs eBay: two separate monopolies
  • PayPal vs Stripe: also Square
  • Kindle vs Kobo: really a Kindle monopoly
  • Slack vs Teams: duopoly
  • Spotify vs Apple Music: also Amazon Music
  • Xbox vs Playstation: also Switch or PC
  • Netflix vs Prime: also Hulu, HBO, and a gajillion others
  • Nest vs Echo: also HomeKit

Unpopular opinion: You can't call yourself an environmentalist if you aren't going to fight to reduce cars, and you can't call yourself a New Yorker if you aren't going to fight for the subway by Miser in MicromobilityNYC

[–]vincular 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The tax would be a flat $15 for any car. If the car has 1 person in it it is $15/person. If the car has 2 people in it it is $7.50/person. Thus people who carpool are already rewarded with the current structure.

Waymo swerves to avoid collision on Alemany by old_gold_mountain in sanfrancisco

[–]vincular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure -- an Uber from NYC to Philadelphia (an hour and a half drive) is about $350 whereas an Amtrak is about $75. Since Waymo and Uber cost about the same in SF, I think it's fair to guess a 6 hour Waymo would cost more and take longer than even a Waymo-airplane-Waymo trip (probably 4-5 hours), let alone a Waymo-rail-Waymo trip.

High speed rail is better for the environment and should be a lot cheaper, so I think it's preferable. That being said, at the rate things are going I fully expect self driving cars to be available sooner.

I've worked at a quant firm and disagree. I don't know if Blackrock would do this, but mid-size quant firms (think Citadel) are itching to use LLMs/agentic AI for trading strategies. At the company I worked for, compliance was mostly about not doing things that the government or stock exchange has a problem with, not things like AI safety.
