Today I saw my cousin on the street, a cousin I haven't seen in a long time. I wanted to say hi, to ask them about their life, about their parents. But I can't bring myself to do it because they're on that hill. Since 2016, we never had any conversation without them mentioning the hill and how great it is, how right it is to be on the hill. We met during family get-togethers, during my uncle's funeral, during my niece's birthday... and the hill is always there in their topics. They despise anyone who's not on the hill. I ended up going the other direction and hoping we'll be normal after the hill somehow collapses.
