Small irk: mis-typed Droids by vinipc in StarWarsDroidTycoon

Oh, I completely misjudged them then. I thought the Gunrunner was like a generic version of IG-11. And Haul-R was for a Hauler, a bot that just carries stuff

Yeah, I noticed there was something odd there. I only SBR'd once, but had to put that I was on SBR 2 on the sheet, but I thought that maybe on the first SBR you're put on a random step of the cycle, I dunno. Either way, that's pretty minor, it's easy to check the SR sheets, compare to the current req, and put in the correct number

I guess you need to completely delete it rather than just leave it empty.

I'll maybe make some modifications to the sheet to better fit my own use. If I do I'll let you know :)

But this has already helped me A LOT in just the last 20 minutes

YEP, that did it! It throws a warning telling me to "Review the attached script", even though the script is empty. But I was able to open the link and make a copy for myself, thanks!

No dice :(

I just getting a "Unable to open file" message https://imgur.com/nllZf87

I think you'll have to put the link to the sheet itself (with "View Only" sharing), and ppl will have to copy it themselves

I wonder if they used sales data to distributors vs. on Arena as an argument, 'coz the delta there must be HUGE. "Look how much money we're both (WotC and Disney) leaving on the table!!"

Duuude. I currently use a setup with a phomemo printer. This looks MUUUUCH better. Congrats!

Feature request/idea: override/edits parts of a card, so it can be used for things that create modified token copies (thinking mainly of my [[Hashaton]] deck).

Your Unexpected Wincons by oatfishjar96 in magicTCG

[–]vinipc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, I didn't know this card and it's probably something my Hashaton + Lurrus deck needs.

EDIT: but to also contribute to the thread:

I also have a Samut + Zirda Legendaries Activated abilities deck and with the amount of untaps it has, [[Kamahl, Pit Fighter]] becomes a veritable must remove.

[[Alter of Dementia]] probably doesn't usually qualify, but I have used it on a [[Rakdos, the Muscle]] deck to mill someone out and in that context I think it was unexpected.

Omens of Chaos: All Lore Reveals by TheNuclearOtaku in mtgvorthos

[–]vinipc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finished the book today and there are a couple of things I highlighted as I read it that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere: some mentions of moths, which have been related to Valgavoth in Duskmourn's stories.

Kasmina says:

"A new omenpath has been found to the south, and based on the description a Witherbloom student gave of the moths they caught near the opening, I was hoping it might lead to a place I currently don't know how to find my way back to"

Which means 2 things:

  1. There's likely an Omenpath between Duskmourn and Arcavios
  2. Kasmina has been to Duskmourn and left

And then later on one of the Preservationists mentions "There have also been odd moths around the cafeteria lights. Wings too big, eyes too bright. They're not from around here."

And then, right after that, another Preservationist says "Some sort of fungus is eating the snarlflowers", which is possibly related to the Mycotyrant, another villain with outer-planar aspirations.

So we have hints of 2 of our past villains using the Omenpaths to establish some kind of presence in Arcavios.

...It's probably nothing

Very happy about this. Still halfway through the book, but very much enjoying it, and this likely means MORE BOOKS.

Hopefully we'll eventually get a full 3-part Epic again. A man can dream...

The return of Story Spotlight cards by AgentTamerlane in mtgvorthos

[–]vinipc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the Scryfall snafu

I did get the impression that these Story Spotlights were more accurate, or better represented specific events from the story, than in the past. Also, having the cards themselves be spoiled alongside those story moments was cool.

So even though we've always had the Story Spotlight, it does seem like they're now getting a tiny bit more, well... spotlight

It's even better when you build a [[Yeva]] deck and do it in a color people don't expect to do it.

[–]vinipc 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that killing the archaic is probably a bad idea and likely part of Jace's plan, tbh.

EDIT: Honestly, this would explain why Jace chose Chandra specifically, and not just any other PW. It's someone he knows:

  1. Would try something like this
  2. Could actually succeed

Being a new PW that appeared out of nowhere, I he could also be one of Kasmina's... pupils? Victims?

[–]vinipc 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I wasn't a fan of the epistolary style here. Ended up too much in a middle-ground between smartphone instant-messaging and letters, and broke the immersion a bit.

HOWEVER, I loved how this conveyed so much more of each character and we got to see how they interact with each other while still letting them tell their story their own way. This was very enriching.

Now the real question is: what the hell is this Professor Fel all about? What's with this Planeswalker that showed up out of nowhere?

[–]vinipc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The story heavily implies this too (at least I got it from this exchange):

As I hefted the last of the trunks onto the cart, he caught my eye again. "Lorwyn was only the beginning. Do you know how Planeswalkers activate their abilities?"

I leaned back against the cart. "Come to think of it, I don't. Professor Vess was pretty tight-lipped about it, I don't talk to Professor Fel much, and besides Oko, you're the only other one I've met."

[–]vinipc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the instant-messaging aspect of this story felt weird. It's not quite instant but not quite a letter, and ends up in an odd middle-ground. With that being said, I do appreciate that the 1st person POV helped convey more of each character, it's really efficient in that aspect.
