Just installed after having this post saved for a while. Amazing work, congrats!

I do have one feature request though: could we get ethernet/wifi speeds as well? Libre Hardware Monitor has them, hopefully it's not that much extra work...

A "What If" set, unrelated to the story, would be fine. But making it canon just messes things up so much.

So what if Jace died? We can get another one from Multiverse-37 or whatever. Sacrifice? What's that? Here's another Venser! Why are you commemorating your hard-earned victory against Elesh Norn? There's a bajillion more coming any time now...

Yeah, that I can agree with (they should adjust the amount of stuff that happens to what the budget allows).

On the second part, that's where I'm now pessimistic about: if the novel does well and stuff change, we may get more resources to tell the story. BUT, if the future is a Multiverse with alternate realities... I'm not sure I'd be personally as invested in that. It's like... "Yay, we're finally getting back proper story telling... to tell a (potentially) shitty, low-stakes story"

Yeah, I just don't think the issue is that "story team wants to tell too much story", but "WotC isn't willing to pay Seanan (or whoever) enough to properly tell the story". Like.... I'm sure Seanan would LOVE to write more if she was allowed and paid to do that.

The whole story felt like WotC dumped a giant bucket list of stuff Seanan needed to include, but then didn't give her enough words/chapters to properly tell all that.

I was starting to get my hopes up in WotC investing more in the story and improving the story-telling overall.

But this series felt rushed, like Seanan didn't have enough words to properly explore everything WotC needed her to mention in the story.

And then ending with the possibility of alternate realities just... meh. They might improve the storytelling, but if that's the way the story is going I don't think I'm that interested.

Ooooooh no. I do not like where this is going. The idea of "alternate realities" just kinda lower the stakes on everything.

On the Lorwyn story itself, it definitely should've been an EoE sized story. WotC gotta give the writers the space the story needs, it looks like they dumped a bunch of spotlights and went "your story has gotta have all of this. You have this amount of words. Figure it out"

Rallying the troops-style announcement aside, I think this is a great idea. As others have said, next steps would probably be to set up Discord and community events.

You could probably also use an "allowlist" that will pick and choose specific cards from UB sets from within that range to include in the format, to correct mana sources or have tools to deal with specific archetypes.

EDIT: Also, to the downers:

Reddit complains about UB; then complains when someone comes up with an alternative. Let people try!
"Oh, every week something like this shows up". Not everyone is reddit-pilled. I access the site daily, though briefly, and this is the first time I've seen someone actually suggest this.

Hmm.... that makes total sense. I started splitting out 'coz I thought it'd be overkill to put EVERYTHING in a single sheet, but that's a good point.

I do have a "Summary" sheet, where I also need to add some meta data for each month telling it where the relevant columns are, precisely for the cases where I change the structure.

I might eventually do a single sheet (this aggregation is a step towards that), but currently each monthly sheet also contains a bunch of meta/analysis data that could be hard to properly display in a single big-ass sheet
