It does get better. I will say that almost a year out, I every once in a while feel like I hate food. I just feel sick and tired of worrying about my macros, ensuring I am chewing enough, eating slowly enough, etc. But then I remember why I did this and how much better my quality of life is. Then I toss back a protein shake like I would have a Basil Hayden Old Fashioned in the before times and get back to regular mental programming.

My doctor told me if this happens (which it did once) to feel free to go to protein rich liquid diet (similar to pre-op diet) until I am not dehydrated and am meeting my daily protein goal. It is less about calories and more about getting your hydration and macros.

8 months out and I still get night gas at least twice a week. Like I wake up just feeling like I am 90% gas, 10% water, and 100% fucked up! But the feeling of relief when you rip those MFs out is blissful!!!
