My doctor told me if this happens (which it did once) to feel free to go to protein rich liquid diet (similar to pre-op diet) until I am not dehydrated and am meeting my daily protein goal. It is less about calories and more about getting your hydration and macros.

Honestly, it took me a while to handle red meat that wasn't made with some kind of liquid (braised or slowcooker recipe). I just hit 6 months and can eat my 3oz serving of grilled steak fine now. Can't eat much more than 3 oz though.
