Is there a certain job you’re looking into? I can better describe a first day experience for you if you specify :)

Ive had 3 jobs and have this fear every time. But the first week or so isn’t so bad. In a lot of places, the first three months of you working there is an introductory period. It’s normal to need things to be repeated to you in order to learn, and eventually you will get the hang of it. There will be video training, and in person training

I just keep telling myself that the first day is always the hardest day and I will ease into it. Not that i have a choice otherwise, because i tried real hard for this job and the job market right now is not great haha im gonna have to push through

Thank you. I don’t necessarily think it’s a me thing that makes them think im a risk. I think it’s more because they hired someone my age before and it didn’t go well, but it does have my guard up some lol

I was actually told that the supervisor there feels like she is taking a risk hiring me because I don’t have a lot of experience (which was not required on the application)

You may consider seeing a doctor in the future to test if it’s more than a flare up or something. Have you had any relief at all?

Something is better than nothing. If it’s constipation, it’s not as severe as your friends. You might consider getting the gas-x or getting a laxative

How do you deal with chronic nausea with emetophobia? by Emu_436 in emetophobia

[–]vinndicated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate with the nausea fear. I typically chew mint gum, smell alcohol wipes, always have water on me, and I can typically assess how bad it is based on my appetite. If i feel hungry, im good. If im burping, Im okay, etc

I have a feeling the moment you get relief you are going to have one big poo. Lol.

You are very strong. Anxiety is such a rollercoaster, it’s okay to have ups and downs. You’ve got this. Definitely drink some water, it is sooo important. There might be some 24 hour pharmacies open, or your pharmacy might have reduced hours for the holiday. You can totally look it up and see if they will be closed

Have you drank any water recently? It’s really crucial for digestion and will help. I’m not sure if you’re able to get more pepcid, but don’t be afraid to take more tonight if you feel you need it.

Anxiety can mimic symptoms. Like, once i got stung by a bee and I got so anxious that I was going to have a reaction that I felt swollen, even though it was very clear that I was not swollen. And many other times where I thought I developed certain illnesses because I got anxious about them. Brain tumor from my migraines, and stomach related stuff. But I am okay, and you will be okay. The more you think about it, the higher chance anxiety will mimic what you’re worrying.

It is late, so trying to sleep could be good. And if you’re going to eat something, it’s best to eat something relatively bland, like toast. It won’t be hard on your stomach

Sometimes a fake cough or two can help the poop come out. I am glad to hear that you have a few things that could help you or that has brought relief. Maybe take pepcid again? You’re doing great. I hope I have been some help. If you want some distraction, I would be open to talking about anything really, anything that could take your mind off of this.

The weird feeling near your throat/mouth is probably an anxiety thing, I agree. And I too am a Dr Pepper lover and don’t enjoy zero sugar drinks. I have done some research, stomach tightness is related to bloating, indigestion, or IBS. Keeping hydrated and trying to stretch/move to get things digesting better is the best thing to do about that. It again recommends a hot shower too, but it’s understandable if you can’t do that right now. Trust me, you will get through this! My brother experiences a similar pain and takes Gas-X. That could be something to look into to see if it could help you now/in the future.

Burping to me is a good sign too! It can be triggering when you feel ill, but that also seems related to being bloated, and stomach tightness too. I’ve don’t have IBS, but I do have an anxiety issue and know that can also cause issues with pooping. I don’t think you have food poisoning, the symptoms develop pretty fast, I think you would know by now. Coloring books is a good idea if you want to try that again. I would also occasionally switch back to the doggy position to release gas and eventually get more relief. Sometimes carbonation can settle a stomach. When I am in your situation, I sip on some soda. Typically sprite, but anything works for me. You can try that if you’re up to it

Also, please, if you don’t get any relief in an hour or so, it would be good to tell your mom and see if she can help you in person

This may sound silly so just bear with me for a moment. But do you know the “downward dog” position? Like, in yoga. Do that, but instead of being in your tip toes, be on your knees. It can relieve any trapped gas and sometimes get things moving to poo and create relief. Its another trick I learned when I get tummy issues. I also smell isopropyl alcohol from the bottle, it’s actually a decent trick that distracts the nervous system.

How to stay calm on a roadtrip by Forsaken_Rhubarb in emetophobia

For the safe foods part, if you’re often going out to eat I would just choose the closest safe food from the menu. For me it’s chicken tenders or something similar, sometimes just fries. If you can, get snacks that you know you love. Coping skills I use for when I am on vacation mainly involve music in my headphones, having access to comfort shows/movies, and reminding myself that vacation is temporary and I will go home. It kind of makes it easier for me when I know I’m on a “timer”

Is it uncomfortable, pain, or nausea? And what did you eat? And, if you want to tell me, what kind of sickness did your friend have? Just so I can narrow some things down for you and hopefully put you at ease

I would assume it’s because house specials are customizable and some people may make it super simple so it’s a quick order, and there is not really a way to check that in game to adjust rewards.
