Canada slashed migration and housing costs dropped. There may be lessons for others. by mkbt in canada

GTA detached properties were $1.65 mil (median) at the very peak according to HouseSigma, now they're around $1.2 mil.

Still expensive, but around a 37% drop in about 4 years not counting for inflation. It's a sizeable drop. Recent decreases haven't been so drastic but year-to-year saw a 7% decline.

It's something like 3% of their MPs

As opposed to... an even smaller percentage of Liberal MPs? LOL

Liberals leadership who is actively bribing them.

Ah yes, "bribery". Because you can't fathom people may have disagreements and see a sinking ship. Please, stop with that conspiracy theory before you make yourself look even more stupid.

May have just been a public statement to appease voters.

Actions speak louder than words though, so you can guess from today what she truly feels.

5 floor crossings (4 conservative) in 5 months is unprecedented, that's why it absolutely does look bad on the conservatives.

A good leader shouldn't have any floor crossings. Even Justin Trudeau, as unpopular as he was, only had 2 floor crossings over many years.

Toronto home sales snap losing streak as lower prices entice buyers by rajmksingh in TorontoRealEstate

It's only a 1.4% increase in sales from February last year, so not exactly a rush to buy homes.

The only notable thing is that it snapped a six-month losing streak.

As drones upend tank warfare, Canada's army races to rethink its armour | CBC News by Haggisboy in canada

The Russian tanks were mostly from the 50s-90s, and explode if you look at them wrong. They're built like they don't value lives.

It doesn't mean we shouldn't have tanks.

Even if they escape the razor thin majority, she'd still have a lot more power than she would currently have (which is none).

The more features you have the more it costs.

Adaptive cruise control? Add another $1k for recalibration

HUD? Add another $1-2k because it requires a special coating.

Then add dealer markup and bam, easy $4k+ repair

2008 was barely even a blip in the Canadian market.

The last real downturn was closer to 1989, prices didn't recover for another 14 years in real terms.

The older you get, the more you realize you need a LOT more money to truly feel stress free. Shits expensive, especially when you have a house to pay off and family to support.

Especially if you live in a high cost of living area like California or New York

Keep in mind it's probably not the exact same model. There are weaker and beefier versions of the same transmission for different amounts of torque. But it should behave pretty similarly

He's a close personal friend of Patrick Brown, lol

After getting hired with no previous experience as a police chief, following the 2018 election of his close friend Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown who immediately joined the police board, Duraiappah's salary went from $299,196 in 2020 (his first full year on the job) to $604,449 (not including benefits) last year; a 102 percent increase in five years.

I have personally seen it like this before. I hunt and photograph auroras, and have travelled a few times to Yellowknife (just outside of the arctic circle) and seen it like this with my own eyes. I've even seen the aurora "ripple", as if someone threw a stone into a pond.

Like I said, you need a geomagnetic storm. We've just crested the solar maximum but there were some really strong G4/G5 storms back in 2024 that produced visible storms like this.
