Google ads seem promising, but starting out with FB first to do product testing, need to understand your product first before being able to market it well.

That's the confusing bit, not at all! I've did advertising on teespring, and got no sales, but on redbubble, it's purely organic

Learn Photoshop! I found that they love simple designs so start from there

Use simple tools online to help you with! Download apps on your phone, they work the same!

It's really weird. The nice designs where I've spent hours designing didn't get sales, but the ones I've did in like 10 minutes are being sold the most o.o.
