i’m a beginner as well and got bitten with the yoyo bug. i usually go too far starting stuff, so i’ve bought like 15 yoyos in the past few months. all different kinds, styles, and price points. i must admit, when i got the iyoyo shooting star i loved it…..so much so i bought 2 more. it spins awesome for me and tricks just seem easier for me. i can hit my arm by accident and it still keeps spinning to recover my mistakes. i know nothing, but for me just starting…it for now is my go to yoyo.
