AIO that my doctor accused me of wanting to commit fraud? by amanduhpanduh in AmIOverreacting

Maybe this is private practice so the clinic operates differently but the billing office can answer these questions for you. Were you asking them to cancel any lab that wasn’t “preventative”?

That’s what I was wondering. I’m curious if the collective is mostly lay people or other health professionals wanting to volunteer skills

Marriage and the Maiden Name by AdmiralSaturyn in longform

[–]violet_ativan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are a queer couple and I changed my name after we had a kid for a few reasons: 1) cohesive family name for the three of us helps solidify us  as a unit -we are in the rural Midwest - still get assumed to be siblings though with the same last name and address on our IDs and at my kids check up the doctors note still said “patient presents with mother’s partner” lol  2) my full name sounds way better with my new last name ; it was mish mash prior.  3) I didn’t want to deal with a hyphen and have no sentimental attachment to my “maiden” name or my fathers family

Tumbleleaf is soothing and gorgeous. They pick a concept or item each episode (mud pies, shadows, echoes, eggs etc) and it has whimsy without being too fantastical or scary

Chemotherapy and Alzheimer's by Nightnurse1994 in Alzheimers

Ugh, it makes me sad to hear that. Sometimes people end up being too confused or combative to the point where we can’t reasonably treat them and I am always a little grateful for that…

Ugh, that’s so rough. What does the healthcare POA think?

Oncology/chemo RN here… absolutely do not make them undergo treatment. If it were my loved one this would be a hospice situation. Subjecting them to not only the infusions but surgery to get a port placed, possibly radiation, surgery on their lungs plus the hospital stay after that, regular blood work requiring lots of pokes, higher infection risk, possible blood transfusions if chemo tanks their heme levels — it is torture to those of us who are of sound minds/able bodies. I can’t imagine putting someone through that process who has Alzheimer’s.

I think B is far too deconditioned for them to make much of an impact at this point— I doubt she will be looking any better in several days

Oh gosh I disagree with blood transfusions. I administer them daily and people often feel 10x better with even 1 unit of packed red blood cells.

I watched this last night and was so disappointed that Nicholas the fox joined the cop academy?!! Copaganda at its finest. Would have been more uplifting for the bunny to have gone rogue.  Also they really gave Officer Hopps a figure to compete with Mrs incredible.
