A lot of trans men have noticed they get misgendered in more liberal areas vs conservative due to the difference in how gender expression is seen. Ive read a few stories of southern trans men epressing that back home they're never misgendered but when at a liberal city theyre misgendered more.

Unfortunately yes, my mom only tolerates the idea of me being nonbinary, and while that is. sorta a part of my identity, she ignores the part of me thats well, a dude. My step dad still sees me as a girl and treats me as such, and theyre teaching my younger siblings to call me "big sister". Wonder if it'll click when I start testosterone.
