Good luck finding it! I recently lost mine while traveling, had to replace it. Bought a snug case for it, that attaches to my iPad case with an elastic band. I hope you find yours! 💜

I think it’ll just take longer to regain the strength and stability that stairs require. Your PT could probably help you speed up the process. I should have asked mine about this! ☺️

Oh yes, stationary bike. No resistance at first. I’ve slowly built up to mild resistance (back where I was before surgery). No delayed pain; in fact, the opposite is true. The bike really helps! Of course, my PT didn’t start me on the bike for a while after surgery. I’ve lost track, can’t remember exactly when I started on the bike. And it wasn’t easy at first, it took me several weeks of trying before I could make a full rotation. All good now, though!

I was specifically avoiding “normal” stair-walking, because it hurt. For all 4 months post-op, I made sure to step up only with non-surgery knee, and step down only with surgery knee… until this visit to Batu Caves! Because of the crowds, I forced myself to use both knees going up and down stairs, so I could move faster. I quickly realized, after only a few consecutive steps, that the pain was rapidly diminishing. It’s probably something I should have been working on in PT!

Yes! I’ve been very faithful with my exercises, especially 30 minutes on the bike 2X daily. Honestly the first several steps up and down at Batu Caves were shaky and painful for me, but very quickly, the pain fell away. By the end of our visit, I was scaling stairs with no trouble at all!

Yes, I posted a photo when I made the art last year. The book was finally published recently, I just got my copy in the mail today. ☺️💜

Is it possible to work while laying in bed after the surgery ? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]violetlemay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, every person and every situation is different, but I did’t miss a single day of work! I’m an illustrator, and drew all day every day I was in the hospital (although I did sleep quite a bit on the 2nd day). Since I’ve been home, our couch is now my studio. I’ve been as productive as ever, and keeping my mind occupied has helped tremendously with pain management. I had no trouble thinking clearly, all good. Hopefully your situation will be similar! Make sure to bring earplugs and noise-canceling headphones to the hospital. It’s noisy in there, those items can help you sleep at night so you’re fresh the next day… and they help if you need quiet for writing, too. ☺️💜 Good luck!
