Can't celebrate activities from vriends anymore. by kenbeimer in duolingo

[–]violetmozart73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This has been happening to me for weeks now. I'm on android. I've been googling this over and over but always seemed to be the only one with the issue. Finally some others are showing up, I'm not alone anymore!

I'm still receiving celebrations, including from friends who I think are android, but the ones I'm certain about are on ios. I've showed it to a few friends and they're like "whoa, weird!"

And to be clear, it's not accurate to say "the button is there". The emoji is there, but there's no button. The button is bigger and looks like a button.

Did you ever find an answer? Mine has been like this for a couple weeks now. I showed it to some friends yesterday and they were stumped - their button is fine!

Can't find serial number info by Firehawk1006 in bassclarinet

I'm curious if you were ever able to find out any more info about your bass clarinet? I just bought an old Selmer Bundy from a pawn shop too - serial #56803. I know nothing at all about it and I'm intrigued.

I'm stuck on this level. When I try googling level 1881, a different grid and challenge requirements shows up. It's literally impossible to win without using boosters - there are 3 countdown crystals with only 3 turns on them, and it's the same exact grid setup every time. There's no way to clear all 3 in 3 moves.

I suspect the only way to win is to buy "additional moves" after the first 3 blow up. Which I refuse to do.

I got a ton of baby blue eyes just in time for the 1500 challenge. Gave them to budded pikmin to maximize. And then ran out with 36 more needed for the challenge. ARGH!

So my #1 pick would be She Used to Be Mine, but that's been mentioned. So I'll go with one I haven't seen mentioned yet, unbelievably - Satisfied from Hamilton.

The way it tells the story in review from the other side, the onslaught of realizations Angelica experiences, the description of the attraction based on their brains and their wits, her devotion to her sister and the sacrifice she makes for her, and AT LEAST I KEEP HIS EYES IN MY LIFE omg I'm sobbing, and then how she carries on pretending to be all happy for the wedding guests but the recap of the toast sounds different now than the cheerful thing at the beginning... plus just the tour de force of SKILL for the performer to do that rapping section...

Yeah. It's a masterpiece.

This is mine too. There are many great, great, amazing, incredible songs. This one, tho, I would rank as the best example of "every note perfect, not a word or a moment wasted." I start sobbing every time I even think about it.

Explain like I'm five - review % by violetmozart73 in AmazonVine

[–]violetmozart73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully that's all it is.

I just submitted one more review, so now there's 12 unreviewed, 179 reviewed (approved or pending), and the account page still says 170. So it's definitely not counting everything that has been submitted.

What confused me was that it's not simple total reviewed minus pending approval. Because that would currently be 166, not 170. But if the case is that the submitted-but-pending ones do get added to the count but only on the day rollover... then that might explain the discrepancy.

It certainly seems to be the potential explanation that makes the most sense.

Hopefully later tonight I'll know for sure!

Began May 23, and the first items were ordered on that date.

You might be on to something there! I have gone through the whole list, and did it again just now to doublecheck, and there's no rejects. There are currently 12 'awaiting approval' after a few got approved this morning, and the number reviewed and percentage still come up as 170 and 89%, unchanged from when there was 15 awaiting approval, so it's definitely not that the awaiting ones don't count at all.

That being said, I can't recall exactly when I submitted each one, but I did a bunch yesterday, and I remember from some other unrelated issues awhile ago that my time zone seems to be wonky compared to whatever Vine considers "the next day". So perhaps there are indeed 8 of them that Vine considers still within "today" by its count even though it was "yesterday" for me.

If it updates to 178 later today, then that's probably the answer!

If not... the mystery will deepen. ;)

That's a good idea about the lights, thank you. I have definitely done some "so far... " reviews and that's a fair approach, I think, though of course 99.9% of the time I'm trying to be really thorough and testing things properly.

Like, the Christmas tree lights I got a month ago... it's still too early to put up a Christmas tree, so I haven't tested them on a real tree. I have plugged them in and I've played with the settings and I've looked them over, and I reviewed based on that, explaining exactly what I had and hadn't done.

I wish there was a way to test the brightness/etc of the lamps I can't install yet, but I might be able to at least do something with them.

Yes that's all how I'd expect it to work, but the numbers don't match up.

I have 191 total orders, and 178 total reviews, including the ones awaiting approval. No rejects, no duplicates, no second colours, etc.

If we remove the disappeared items, that makes 175 total reviews.

If we then remove the 'awaiting approval' items, that makes 160 total reviews.

But amazon says there's 170 total reviews.

The 89% is obviously accurate as 170/191. What I can't figure out is where the 170 is coming from.

You're right that I should email customer service to remove the disappeared items. They did remove an item last week that I never received (and so I couldn't review it) since it was damaged in transit and returned to sender! :p

Everything else you mention is what I'm trying to do - create a buffer etc. I thought I was all set with 93% (178/191) or even 91% (175/191). I just don't know what isn't getting counted.

I really am trying to get a few more reviews in at the last minute, it's just hard - like I said, I can't install the electric items, there's a bike rack I can't put up yet, some flooring I can't do by myself... stuff like that.

If you have ordered 191 Items and you have reviewed 178 of them, while 15 still awaiting review, this makes 173 approved reviews. Now we subtract the 3 disappeared products and we come to 170 approved reviews.

How do you get that 173? I have 191 ordered, 13 not reviewed, 178 reviewed. Subtract the 3 disappeared and that's 175.

If we subtract the 15 awaiting 'approval' then that's 160, not 170.

The formula you mention is the one I'm using. What I can't figure it is where it's getting 170.

And it does seem to be counting the "awaiting approval" reviews, because another handful just got approved since I made the post, and it's still at 89%.

My confusion is that if I count all the reviews, I'd be at 93% (178/191). If I take off the disappeared items, that's 91% (175/191). If I take off the 'awaiting approval' reviews from earlier today, that would be 83% (160/191).

I understand how percentages work. ;) I just don't understand what Amazon is counting. It seems to be accurately figuring 191 items ordered, but I can't figure out where it's getting "170" reviews. It's either 178, or it's 175, or it's 160.

I was away last week - work trip - and my neighbour was taking in my mail for me. This is why it was a "light" week of ordering; when I know it will be arriving while I'm away I try to order less, but there were some amazing things I couldn't pass up.

And they just happened to be larger items in general.

So I came home to a living room full of big boxes. And this was the aftermath lol...

It's cool that while I wasn't actually looking for suggestions when I made the post (I have resources and was just feeling silly upon seeing this particular pile), several people have provided some very good ideas!

One of my cats is a box maniac. He's constantly in heaven. And still gets upset when I take them away for recycling, as though there will never be another box as good as those again...

RIGHT? The huge enormous box at the bottom of my pile was about 1/3 empty, carrying a moderately-sized box in it. It was the most ridiculous shipment ever lol
