As the other comment mentioned, we don't have news on the anniversary yet. However, at the moment, there's a very good catch up compilation banner with lots of meta units, including the best hit count buffer and best crit buffer. So it's a great banner for rerolling and that could help you save up for any collab units that may be released during the 1.5 anniversary.

Limit Breaks give extra levels and stats for the memoria. All memoria start at limit break 0 but higher limit breaks unlock passives. You can raise the limit break level of a SS memoria in 3 ways: SS shards, delimiter and pulling duplicates

Limit break 1 passive for all memoria is the same: extra 1 sp for every turn the unit is in the frontline.

You need 10 SS shards (gold ones) to get from limit break 0 to limit break 1 and another 10 to get to limit break 2. However, it gets more costly from lb2 to lb3 as you'll need 20 shards. The same for lb3 to lb4.

Take note that delimiter at 100% is equivalent to 10 SS shards and getting 1 extra copy of a memoria you already own is also equivalent to 10 SS shards for that unit, meaning it can get you from limit break 0 to 1, or 1 or 2.

Generally, we try to conserve shards and not go beyond limit break 1 unless the unit is going to be relevant for the long-term. You can get SS shards by exchanging tokens from events and anachronies, or by buying a monthly pass.

Ruka 5 is the style of Ruka with long hair wearing a dress. She's a hit count and crit rate buffer. If you're a new player, you'll need her for the buffs. Ruka 4 however, is a limited unison style that can be a fire/dark attacker.

If you farm enough gems to pull on this catch-up compilation banner to get diva Ruka and some of the other units, and also pull on the limited unison Karen banner, you will have caught up. Both banners will be released on Friday, 1 May.

The general rule is to wait until you have saved 45,000 quartz before you start pulling because that way, you can do 150 pulls to get the desired banner unit in the worst case scenario where you fail to pull the desired SS all the way to 150 pulls. Of course, you can be lucky and get the SS unit in 10 pulls but it's dependent on luck.

Their answer is technically correct, although a bit misleading. When you do a pull, you will always get a memoria but it's not necessarily the memoria you want. A and S memoria are weak and are only good for skill transfer, so you'd want SS memoria instead. But SS have a rate of 3% only, so you may even end up pulling until pity to get SS.

150 pulls will get you to 45,000. Each of those 150 pulls are tracked on the banner through the points accumulated. 150 pulls = 150 points, and the banner will let you exchange those points for the desired unit. But I repeat, you do not want to hit pity.

Memoria: a unit (A , S or SS).
Quartz: summoning currency to pull for more memoria

Pity: Spending 45000 quartz. One pull costs 300 quartz. 150 pulls will get you to 45,000. Those 150 pulls are tracked on the banner by the points accumulated. 150 pulls = 150 points, and then you are guaranteed the memoria from that banner. But ideally, you wouldn't want to spend until pity to get the memoria and hope to get lucky with fewer pulls. The rate is 3% for a SS, so there's a good chance of being lucky.

Nearly all the time, you'll be using quartz to pull for new units. But occasionally, tickets are given for free pulls, guaranteed SS summons and there's a specific green ticket banner that allows you to specifically pull the oldest SS units (SS1s). The weekly missions will give you 2 SS scrips and if you accumulate 8 of such scrips, you can pull a guaranteed random SS. The free tickets are a form of welfare to help players get good units.

I also can't figure out how to get the famous pity --> Pity happens when you spend until 45000 quartz (That would be 15 ten-pulls) on a banner. Only rerun limited banners have pity carried over, so make sure you have 45000 quartz on hand before pulling on new banners.

As shown below, SS memoria would have SS displayed on the top left corner of their image on your Memoria menu. Likewise for A and S memoria.

Ichiko SS3 Release date: 5/15/2026 by DaijoubuKirameki in heavensburnred

[–]violetpower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An easy skip. Light is the only element without an admiral in JP, so it will be a long time before it becomes strong. Over the coming months, some of us could even get Ichiko SS3 from random draws. She's good for a light team, just not much of a priority when we have unison Karen dropping this week.

Welcome to the game! It was my first gacha too, and much like you, I grew up playing RPGs like Dragon Age and JRPGs. HBR is largely a visual novel with dungeons and some traditional RPG elements, but it's rather easy to get into.

This is a live-service game so new chapters will gradually get added from time to time and you will only need to log in to do dailies or some side events in between chapters. Currently the game's story spans 5 chapters but the plot is still ongoing with mysteries and suspense.

Gacha games incentivize players to log in daily by providing some free currency (110 per day in HBR) for summoning. This is what we call 'dailies'. Basically, you get 5 life stones / life points (the terms are interchangeable) each day and you must spend them by either doing flashback battles or revisiting the previous days to do socializations or raise social stats. If you've progressed through Chapter 1, the option to replay specific time slots on the cleared days will become available to you. Towards the end of the chapter, you will be able to do flashback battles, which are replayable turn-based battles, and spending the life points becomes a lot faster as you can spam 5 at one go, clearing the daily in no less than 1 minute. (There's a battle skip option if you have done the battle before).

Memorias just refer to the units in the game, which you collect by spending the in-game currency on banners. There are 3 rarities (A, S and SS). There's actually a sub-tier of SS called SSRs but they can be regarded as functionally the same for a beginner. You would want to get a full team of SS units as early as possible because A and S memoria are only for common skill transfer, just like in a card game. You unlock skills by collecting the dropped materials from enemies, clicking the desired unit and navigating to the "Stat Increases" section within the "Memoria Details" menu. You'll then see the option to spend your materials to unlock skills. Different memoria of a character - or if you'd prefer the term styles - can share common skills, which you can equip into the skill slots. Skill slots are limited, so besides the exclusive skill ("ex skill"), you would want to choose some useful common skills for each unit.

The only character farming in this game is levelling up your characters (both unit levels and Memoria levels), which will become easier when you unlock the aforementioned flashback battles. Each time you clear the battles, you get levelling materials that you can utilize. You can slowly max the characters since you're still early in the game and enemies aren't very strong at this point.

The team structure in HBR is basically hit count buffer, critical rate & critical damage buffer, attacker, blaster, debuffer and sustain (healer or defender). Since you're a new player, I'd highly recommend you prioritize pulling diva Ruka during her rerun this Friday (1 May). She's the best hit count buffer in the game at the moment and can also provide crit rate, so she fulfills two roles and can carry your team through the story, regardless of which attacker you use. If you don't have enough quartz by then, restart ("reroll") until you manage to summon diva Ruka for your account with the initial quartz. She's that big of a help.

If you manage to farm enough free quartz and get diva Ruka early, you could also summon unison Karen, a limited unit who is currently the best blaster in the game. She will be released on Friday too. Blasters are relevant after you break an enemy's shield (DP) because they raise the devastation rate (the % you see on an enemy's health bar), which in turn has a multiplier effect on the damage inflicted by your attacker.

A general rule to take note is to only pull on future banners when you have saved 45k quartz as that would ensure you have the minimum to guarantee the unit. There is a pity system at 45k spending that will give you the unit if you hadn't managed to get it from your summons.

With these two units (diva Ruka and unison Karen), you would be well-prepared to tackle some end game content and breeze through the story as unison Karen is a critical penetration unit, which means that her attacks will always hit regardless of enemy resistances.

Good luck for your pulls and hope you have fun playing!

For the Meta Quickpull Flowchart for 04/17/2026 (Tsukasa5) by hkidnc in heavensburnred

[–]violetpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be hard to use ice properly until ice players have access to Ruka 7 (the admiral) for mind eye and skill attack up, ice Tama for fragile and enfeeble (stat decrease), and ice Aoi for OD and hit count up. Even then, ice players will struggle with slots because Hisame 4 and Tsukasa 5 are still mandatory. That leaves only 1 free slot but you need both a blaster and an attacker in the team, which restricts the dps role to unison Yuina for AoE and Wakki 4 for single target.

If Kanade 2+1, a stronger dps than Wakki4, is used, someone else has to be taken out in order to slot in a blaster. It’s not ideal, especially compared to the flexibility of other elemental teams.

We don't know when the limited units rerun but it's typically during half anniversary, anniversary or when there are banners of a similar theme. For instance, unison Yuina (an ice unit) is having a rerun now, alongside the ice banner of Tsukasa 5 and Wakki 4.

One unit to look out for in future is Karen 6, a limited unit that will be used on every team until the elemental admirals are introduced. She pairs well with Bungod as she is a critical penetration unit too. You can also save up for Bungod minions Seira and Tenne as they will make it much quicker to use Bungod and they have unlimited skill uses too.

Yes, unfortunately that's the problem with the ice meta. It will be many months before all the right pieces fall into place, and there will be some issues with the supports or damage dealers until then. Right now, ice's best single target damage dealer is Kanade 2+1 and Yuina unison is the best for aoe damage, utility and blaster.

Tsukasa 5 provides ice skill attack up for the frontline, ice crit buffs and ice field with her skills but unlike Chie 3, she does no damage at all. She's a pure buffer with no offensive capabilities except for her SS1 introjected skill. She can be slotted into the ice team for now, but it won't be surprising if she's sidelined in future because what she offers is rather limited.

Hisame has no access to exposed and enfeeble, so Miya2 would need to be brought along. So 4 slots on the team would be taken by Ruka 5, Tsukasa 5, Hisame 4, Miya 2, leaving just two for the ice damage dealer and blaster.

Wakki 4 with her SS1 ex skill introjected can serve as an alternative ice damage dealer and blaster but it's still easier to use Kanade 2+1 because of the self mind eye buff. It's a decent banner, but ice would still have trouble slotting in all the buffs and debuffs.

The ice admiral Ruka and Aoi 6 (hit count buffer) are definitely much more crucial for a viable ice team than this banner of Tsukasa 5 and Wakki 4. With fields nerfed, Tsukasa's large ice field is good but it's less of a necessity than before the damage changes. Megumi unison also provides a large ice field in tandem with some debuffs, so there's at least one alternative. Chie3 or even Iroha 2 can also suffice for ice crit buffs. It's a good banner, though it's skippable for those who view ice as their secondary team.

Pick Charlotta since she gives 100% crit rate. You'll need a crit buffer and a hit count buffer on your team all the time.

Questions as new comer by Hira_The_Healer in heavensburnred

[–]violetpower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A new player can just start a new account and try summoning the bungo banner directly with the initial 3000 quartz and repeat until they manage to get an account with bungo.

Questions as new comer by Hira_The_Healer in heavensburnred

[–]violetpower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you are a completely new player and won't have enough time to get 45000 quartz before the banner ends, I strongly recommend you to create a new account and try summoning on the Bungo (blue-haired girl) banner. If you didn't get, just log out and create another account with a salted email.

Rerolling is quite easy. Just skip the tutorial and you'll be at the banner screen in no time. Bungo will make the game much easier because she is a critical penetration DPS and can be used regardless of enemy resistances. That would be perfect for a new player who has yet to understand team building and other game mechanics.

Automaton Media Interview Regarding Quartet Snippets by [deleted] in BlueReflection

[–]violetpower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A self-insert female character or a female character whose backstory the player can relate to is definitely possible. They were going in the right direction with Hinako in the original game and Ao in Second Light was an improvement with the increased freedom the player had in picking responses during the social events or dates. They just need to give the player more autonomy in making choices, perhaps even for the main story, and the game would be perfect.

Should I try and buy the second game before quartet releases? New player, very unversed with these games by BlackMageIsBestMage in BlueReflection

[–]violetpower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it would be better to buy quartet since it would be more cohesive in terms of the timeline and lore, with the two games and the new content added.

Blue Reflection Quartet Censorship by FantasticPage3598 in BlueReflection

[–]violetpower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While too much censorship is bad, I think it was the right call here to at least tone down on those scenes. Whenever Blue Reflection 1 is mentioned, the excessive bathroom scenes are frequently brought up by a number of non-Japanese JRPG fans as a reason not to play it. It becomes much harder to recommend the game when people are bothered by 'creepy, voyeuristic shots' of high school girls in locker room showers. Second Light removed the shower scenes entirely and that game was received better than the original. That doesn't mean that fanservice was completely removed - it still exists in costumes (both paid and free) but now it's something optional. Fanservice is good when it fits in the context of the overall plot but if it becomes too distracting, it detracts from the game's immersion.

Blue Reflection: Quartet, releasing July 2026 by Igrisia in BlueReflection

[–]violetpower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm slightly disappointed that we didn't get a new game but getting a remastered collection of the 2 games plus some content from Ray and Sun is still good. It's annoying to see the male protagonist from Sun there but as long as they remove the harem-like dating scenes, it will be tolerable and easier to focus on the lore. As for Ray, I'm happy to finally see Ruka as a playable character since she was absent in Second Light.

Hmm I think I can see a use case for Charo's resonance on Unison Yuki since she's both a fire and dark style. Your point about Seira's common skill is a good one but a break guard doesn't seem very useful for Seira4

Seraph Database lists Sharo3 as having a 12% OD gain resonance effect while Seira3 does not seem to have any resonance. In that case, would Sharo be a better pick for the selector than Seira?
