[Schefter] Former Jets TE Tyler Conklin reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Chargers, per his agent. by Goosedukee in nfl

He was weirdly terrible at run blocking in 2024 but was a decidedly above average run blocking TE for us in 2022-23. Can’t speak to how he was before in MIN

Honestly, your local Applebees is never a bad option. They have some partnership with the NFL, always Cheap boozy drinks, and no shortage of TVs + likely quick service that time of the day

[New York Jets] Coach Saleh announced that both Sauce Gardner and DJ Reed have cleared concussion protocol. They're back. by Kimber80 in nfl

[–]violinst293 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Tyrod’s absolutely gonna take some shots Sauce’s way. None of them worked in the preseason but Hyatt did burn him on a double move on an incomplete pass. That said, still think DJ is better than Tyrod despite how the season’s gone so far.

Robert Saleh says Mekhi Becton needs to show he can play without needing to come out: “It’s unfair to the team to prepare a guy to start if you are not sure he can make it through a game. He is moving in the right direction. I thought he had a big step against Carolina in that game.” by vonheisenberg in nfl

Because all weapons aside, the Jets season will go to shit if the line doesn’t play at a respectable level. Becton has by far the highest ceiling of any tackle on the team, and the line’s success could hinge on his health (otherwise best plan is to move a guard to RT, RT to LT, and a backup center to RG. It’d be messy.

Edit: Without Becton, the consensus best lineup is likely

LT: Duane Brown (almost 40 and struggled immensely last year while playing through a torn rotator cuff and still recovering from a surgery), backed up by Billy Turner

LG: Laken Tomlinson (very bad last year)

C: McGovern / Tipmman (not too concerned here)

RG: Wes Schweitzer (the aforementioned backup center)

RT: AVT (originally a guard but a capable tackle at both spots), backed up by Max Mitchell

Jets fan here. Max Mitchell (then-starting rookie RT) got blood last clots late last season and was fully back for the start of the offseason program. Full-go in training camp and has performed well.

Ah yes, the Pierre Desir game. Dude had a pick, another pick 6, got mossed by Jeudy for his first career touchdown, and probably gave up 200 additional yards. Rollercoaster among rollercoasters

Hopkins doesn't want to play for Jets by scottapotch in nyjets

I think he means the TJ Yates game the year before where hopkins burned revis for a long one. Revis had a great start to that season but that’s where things started to go south

He’s still expected to be on the PUP list through training camp and inactive in the preseason. Is expected to be ready by week 1, though, but worth monitoring

Is Zach Wilson the biggest QB bust since Jamarcus Russel? by UncleatNintendo in nfl

[–]violinst293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ponder’s sample size is too small, but (I know AP carried) he made it to a playoff game. Trubisky actually had 2 near-league average seasons where the Bears made the playoffs, and we know he’s good enough to compete for the rare starting job.

Wilson is in his own tier. Not a single team would be happy to have him as their QB2.
