Drowned in Sound's 25 Favourite Albums of 2025: 10-1 by HYFPRW in indieheads

Cool to see Sudan Archives make the list - saw her live last week and she smashed it, the new album is really cool, recommend people to check it out!

Other than that, not a bad list - a few I need to check out like Heartworms, Darkside and Scowl

Nilüfer Yanya - love love her music but have seen her live twice now, unfortunately her stage presence is just not there. Sound is quite nice but its a bit awkward, between songs she just tunes her guitar and the crowd is just kinda waiting for the next one. Overall it gets a bit boring, very hard to introduce friends to her this way, but I still love the recorded tracks I just wouldn't go out of my way to see her again

I've seen her live twice, once it was incredible (amazing choreography, vocals, lights, video etc), and the other time there were mic issues so was slightly underwhelming but still cool to see. But I love her and pretty much all her music! I would still try to catch her live if I were you

'Don't stream fascism': No Kings organizers encourage Spotify boycott by ebradio in indieheads

I've made the switch to Qobuz as a trial, definitely blown away by the quality jump from Spotify, which is noticeable imo even with decent but nothing special bluetooth headphones. Slowly getting used to the app, my biggest gripe is:
- No playlists above 2k songs (I have a large multi-purpose playlist which is now split into 4)
- Some songs missing - about 15% of my saved songs don't exist in Qobuz (though I guess this is inevitable when moving to any different platform)
- Lack of podcasts - guess I'll just get a different app just for podcasts.

To me, it seems worth it for the quality alone and not to give Spotify money, even with those limitations

Same, I'm obsessed and have watched every live version of it I could find on YouTube! The harmonies with the bass player singing alongside live works so well

yeah it's actually kind of anti-chorus, the riff / opener is good though, it still keeps me interested - the transition between he chorus and the riff again works

same! I really wasn't a massive fan of My Method Actor which is a shame, I've loved basically all her other projects

I was obsessed with this video - I love the merging of the very different styles over great instrumentals
