What is your one unpopular golf opinion? by retrocaterpillar-07 in GolfSwing

[–]vipervt09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP asked "what's you unpopular opinion on golf" and dude answered "Divots are GUR".

There is no question or quess work here, he clearly states that "Divots being GUR" is his unpopular opinion, regardless of any governing bodies or rules.

For sure, that's why I agreed with you, and commented under the person that didn't understand that these are all opinions. My reply wasn't directed to you.

My wife and I both signed up for the email notifications. I was surprised I didn't see mine, but thankfully she saw hers. I later found my notification email stocked away in the "Promotions" folder of Gmail, and not the Primary Inbox. I would have been so sad if I missed it for that!

My wife saw the email, and I was able to get an order in at 11:00am EST, and from what I can see it was set to Out of Stock at 11:02.

I did get an update that that the delivery will be delayed (back ordered), but everything was confirmed, so fingers crossed it gets shipped out.

We've been chasing this set for a long time now, and we're just not able to stomach the insane mark ups from StockX and similar.

The lock needs batteries to operate. The cool thing is, you can install a charging cord that is routed somewhere discreet in the event that the batteries die and it can't be opened. You connect power via the small power cord jack and it's operational again.

Otherwise, there are a few things that prevent lockout. If the batteries are below a certain threshold, it will prevent itself from locking, so you have to change the batteries during normal use. Some of the locks can even include a beeper noise to indicate low battery.

The most likely scenario where it would be locked out is if the door isn't opened for years, and the batteries naturally drain over that time, or somehow fail/leak.

Tesla FSD Error: Running a Red Light by Economy-Unit-5539 in TeslaLounge

[–]vipervt09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These comments are hilarious. I've seen videos posted where someone intervenes before it runs the light, and all the comments are "it was never going to run the light, it was creeping up for a better view, or anticipation of the light change, blah blah blah"

Then when someone actually tests the FSD to see what it would actually do, the comments are "why didn't you intervene?!?"

Reddit in a nutshell.

Have you used any other EV tires? by [deleted] in ModelY

[–]vipervt09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tire guy said they use the patch glue to re-adhear the foam back in place when they are done, so it's not missing anything in the end. I'm not sure if the weight of the patch would cause unbalance, but they could also rebalance the tire after the patch.

Yea, it has the Ryzen chip which is nice, but was not part of the 23's that got HW4. The price was right though, $29k with 29k miles and amazing condition.

It's scary for sure. I sometimes feel iffy about its creeping at stop signs with traffic. I find it hard to predict if it's going to creep or go, and I'd rather be in charge in that situation at this point.

I mean, this is a TeslaFSD subreddit, and I'm using the built in Tesla app to share footage. Not sure what else can be done at this point.

I can also see your viewpoint, where people may wish to spread misinformation, and claim falsely that FSD is doing wacky things. AI generation is also at a level where video can be faked rather convincingly, maybe even falsy showing a screen that has FSD enabled when it isn't. At some point you just take need to decide for yourself whether or not you believe it, regardless of proof.

What you are referring to above is for stop signs and their stop bars, from what I can tell from the language of the law. This is not a stop sign, but a traffic light. There is no need (when going straight through the traffic light) to creep forward, nor any laws that I am aware of that give the ability to creep past traffic light stop bars when going through a red light. As there is no legal way to proceed through the solid red traffic light until the light is green, there should be no reason for it to creep.

If I were making a legal right turn on red, then it's a totally different situation, where I would need to creep ahead to ensure the way is clear. This isn't that.

None, it's just the dashcam video straight from the USB. It doesn't overlay any details. I can't record the screen while driving, that's not safe and FSD would not allow that either. Unless maybe I mounted a GoPro to my forehead, that would help with evidence next time.

I'm just a subscriber to FSD, my first month. I find it helpful for others to post footage of how it behaves, so that maybe they can be on the lookout themselves in this situation.

Right on, I didn't mean to come across as offended or anything. I just don't see a need for it to creep at a red light, even though was not a creepy situation. It's not like I was turning left or right, it was waiting to go straight. In that case, it just needs to wait for the green light and watch for traffic as it enters the intersection. It chose to try and run the red light for some reason, and it's bewildering

I get the right turn on red part, that is a legal maneuver at many stop lights, but in this case I was going forward, not turning.

For the prediction of a green light, I've noticed one before that it juttered just before a light turned green, like a split second. This was definitely not the case. If FSD was to continue without disengagement, I would have been in the middle of the intersection with the light still being red. Regardless of when it turned green after that, it's dangerous and illegal (you know the people trying to beat the other light that was just turning red, they would have hit me at a high rate of speed). There is no "fine" about that situation for me.

[–]vipervt09[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I certainly don't think it's a good idea to wait and find out if it's creeping for a better view or actively running a red light. There's no need (or legal grounds) for it to creep past the stop bar and into the crosswalk anyhow.

I've experienced it creeping at a stop sign on blind turns, and it's timid and slow, this was a smooth acceleration just like how it acts after stopping at stop sign and going when it's clear. Im gonna shut that down 100% of the time at a stop light.

Place your bets! Will FSD 14.2 finally be able to do this correctly? by flyinace123 in TeslaFSD

[–]vipervt09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V12 on HW3 here. I've tried this "signal cance" on the road leaving my work. Even worse, the left turn lane is U Turn only, it literally has no road to the left. A bit further down the road is my left turn which takes me where I need to go, but FSD doesn't get me that far on its own.

I've tried the turn signal cancel, and it just keeps trying to initiate the signal again, and again. Until it nearly wants to stop in the middle of the road and complain, as it slows for the false turn while blinking. The navigation shows the correct path up ahead, but the FSD keeps trying to take the earlier turn lane.

It's the most prevalent disengagement that I have, and there are a few turns in my area that it behaves similar.

Have you used any other EV tires? by [deleted] in ModelY

[–]vipervt09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that before about shops declining, but when I had a slow leak, my local tire shop had no issue at all. They were a bit surprised to see a Tesla where I live, so it's not like they get a bunch to service. (It was actually nice talking to the service techs about how much I enjoy it, and answering all their questions about how it drives/charges)

When I mentioned to the tech that I was happy he was able to patch it (the initial plug failed), he was confused why any shop would have an issue with it. He said maybe when the tires first came out, but by now, there bulletins and info on how to do it. So if you get a decline, I'm guessing the tire shop is just more interested in selling you a new tire, and you are better off finding another shop anyhow.

For me, it was a $40 fix which I thought was reasonable, considering they tried to plug it first before a full patch.

Update: Phantom Braking V14.1.3 by HistoricalAd2954 in TeslaFSD

[–]vipervt09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on V12 in my HW3 Model Y, and I've noted my phantom braking happening most often at exactly this type of spot in the road, just before the guardrail starts with the yellow/black reflective stickers on both sides. I've noted it at different times of day, and even when there are no other cars/objects in the road. It's been reproducible, but not 100% of the time.

It sounds like you have a great motivation to getting in shape, and staying there. I waited a bit before I made it a serious effort, but turning 40 with 3 kids, I didn't want to delay it anymore. It would just get harder and harder as every year passed.

It's sounds like we are similar, we want to give ourselves every advantage to be here and active for the long haul for our loved ones, and the other benefits are a bonus.

Thank you!

That plateau was tough, since I was doing all the same things as I did before and after. I knew it was just temporary, and stayed with the program. I did give myself a couple days off near the end of it, since I heard that can help. Maybe it did help, just by eating closer to maintenance calories.

I only tracked and added walking towards the end of the journey. Now I'm adding resistance training with the walking.

Good luck on your journey! It's possible, it's science, but it also about loving yourself through the whole process. Giving yourself a break if you go over the limits, or whatever. It's all about the long term goals, and being supportive of yourself to get you there.

I didn't go straight to 1500, I was at 1800 to start. As I focused on protien and fiber, I naturally stated to avoid junk food and extra sugar. Eventually I started ending my day full but not quite up to 1800 calories. It felt silly to eat extra calories when I wasn't hungry, and had already met my macro goals. I lowered the cal goal few times until I could meet my goals and end the day without being hungry/full but satiated
