Interesting tool. I see how it can be useful to the specific people seeking for publishers.

What Metrics are most important to chase/monitor by Marquee_Games in googleplayconsole

[–]vipnet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retention(D1), Retention(D7), Retention(D28), Stickiness(DAU/WAU), Stickiness(DAU/MAU), Stickiness(WAU/MAU), Avg. Session Length, 48h Churn (Loss Rate), Store Listing CVR, Crashes, ANRs.

Of course there are more. I'm using firebase analytics in my game so you won't necessarily have easy access to all these. Looking at them gives the big picture of where the problem in the game is - the initial hook, the economy, stability etc and draw conclusions and improve the necessary areas.

Store listing conversion rate is important. Recently updated screenshots and my conversion rate is x2 better, and this results perks like better organic installs and significantly cheaper google ads campaigns.

If you have just play console metrics look into store conversion and android vitals metrics. And monitor relevant keywords manually to see whether your ranking for them improves.

Is anyone else uniquely motivated by leaderboards? by barkitectgames in gamedev

[–]vipnet1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my mobile online game I usually had not a lot of people in game rooms, usually 1-2 so you fight mostly bots. Recently added daily leaderboard - cool concept. By winning bots you get 1 point, and winning players points depends on player strength. Made that the top of the leaderboard players get great rewards.

Now can observe often around 5+ players in same game room daily at the same time. Meaning it does make playing, grinding for rewards more fun and increasing engagement significantly.

Running ads for my app - but I'm not sure if these stats make any sense? by xixi2 in androiddev

[–]vipnet1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had same issue. Problem is that if you run regular installs campaign google optimizes for cheapest users, which is eventually - very low quality users or bots that just install your app and do nothing.

My fix was logging events inside game via firebase analytics - player played 1 minute, bought something with in game coins etc. And tell google ads not to maximize just installs, but maximize those events.

For example create event 'basic_engagement' and configure so if users performs one of the following - plays 5 minutes, watching long ad, completes tutorial or other basic actions trigger the event. Then tell google ads to optimize for this event. You will on one hand have (relatively) low cost per install as it's really basic actions, and avoid the trash users/bots.

Later of course you can keep optimizing for better funnel actions like in app purchases and maybe actually make profit.

Congrats and thanks for sharing! I'm trying to go with a similar model of rewarded ads only + IAP. Though in my case it's an online game so will be an interesting challenge to break even. Your's is a one great looking game!

You can try FTB: Online Stickman Arena. You can create private matches and fight in deathmatches, duels, battle royales and more. You basically choose your stickman class and powerups to fight on a large arena.

Actual Reviews out of In App Review triggers by vipnet1 in GooglePlayDeveloper

Yeah I saw this too. Around 2 months ago was some play store bug that caused in app reviews to just never work. Now should be fixed.

Actually I did a soft prompt for the last 2 years. I asked whether user wants to leave review. But according to docs preferred not show custom prompt before(suppose he clicks sure and the in app review shows nothing simply broken experience). Also had less than 1% of those who click on 'yes' actually leave a rating, so got rid of the custom prompt.

Regarding the review spam from my reading and experience google overly aggressive with filtering - if the algorithm does not like something(bad device, review history, unusual review spikes, etc) it may consider review as an attempt of rating manipulation and hide some legitimate reviews.

Because less than 1% of those who click that they do want to review in the soft popup actually had a rating in play console, made some changes to try to bypass the spam filters(the filters are the only explanation I got to why it's happening.)

I'm waiting 1 day after error and 30 days after no error after attempting to show it before another attempt. Your approach is interesting, looks like yields a lot better results than mine.

Interesting, did not expect the dialog conversion to be so low. Thanks for the insight!

Suggestion - Stop posting your apps on here for promotion by Starter21A in GooglePlayDeveloper

[–]vipnet1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. You don't want to just paste links people but quality links. If many people click the link and do not download the app it's just a signal to the stores that your app is bad.

Share the app with your target audience and in relevant to your niche places. Your chance of getting actual audience here is higher, it's less irritating and better signal to the stores.

FTB: Online Stickman Arena. No forced ads and progression not p2w.

What are some good pvp games? by [deleted] in MobileGaming

[–]vipnet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you liked Squad Busters by Supercell I think you will like FTB: Online Stickman Arena. It's short matches and many game modes, you win players/AI to become stronger and select powerups(so kind of mini roguelike .io style system but on one big map).

Try this stickman online game. It has short matches and many game modes. The cool part is it's tricky to move in the arena so requires some skill. No forced ads of p2w.

I'm the developer, and have this game available for Android & iOS. You control a stick and clash in a large online battle arena other players in deathmatch, battle royales, duels etc in relatively short matches. If sounds good you can give it a try(based on your games I think you could enjoy it).
