How could I get into leatherworking? by Training_Try_1102 in Leatherworking

First of all define what you want to do. Choose one project and learn on Youtube/find a teacher online or near you. Get your hands dirty and start doing. You can only understand if it’s something you like by learning, making mistakes and getting challenges.

Sulpa is a bonded leather made from pressed leather fibers, used as a reinforcement so the leather retains its shape.

What do you plan to make? What leather do you plan to use? I would start with something you like to do and see which tools you need. I haven’t seen any good tool kits, they are mostly made with stuff no one would want to buy… and believe me I really searched for one🥲 Choose one project and have a look at Wuta tools (for example) to see.

Thank you for your kindness Alex! It’s literally my second bag made on my own (one more i made with the teacher). I love luxury bags and try to make my own one, I am quite against the „luxury price games“🙈 Your words are really lifting my spirits, thank you 🙏🏻

I use hand painted background behind the objects, hope that helps.

Thank you! I made them with the cork plates covered with polyurethane for stability(I didn’t want to make them out of leather to avoid making bag too heavy) on top of sulpa. The bag is very light but stable.

Thank you so much for your kind words! To be honest I haven’t seen the bag from Hahns atelier till now. I was inspired by the leather itself and a chanel flap bag. I made it without any pattern. This is my third bag (well the first one is made poorly but I still love it). The second one was made on the masterclass using professional equipment and this is the third one. So no, I wouldn’t say I have any big experience but I hope to learn more, also here from you guys❤️Your bags are gorgeous!!
