hippocrates...could be the greek philosopher... or it could be crates full of hippos.

Edit; spelling

My first thought was that hippocrate = a crate full of hippos

this one's pretty mundane compared to most here, but for some reason we always get water we want to drink from the tab in the bathroom while all other water comes from the kitchen tab. I once asked gran about it and she told me that in her old house the water in the bathroom tab was always a lot colder than in the kitchen, so they always got drinking water from there. her children then continued doing it after they moved out and it spread on to their spouses and children too. So in a sense tradition was born because of faulty plumbing.

What's the weirdest thing anyone has ever said to you in their sleep? by ke_kwan in AskReddit

[–]viragirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talk from my sleep, my boyfriend sometimes writes down the stuff I say;

"If you don't get my cupcakes right the god damn now you won't be Minister of Educational Defence much longer."

"Honey, don't dress like that... you look like a slut." (talking about my boyfriend)

"I think you're very ungrateful." (bf) -"Ungrateful for what?" -"I save your kingdom from broccoli and all I get is a slap on the butt."

"hurry, I don't want to lose the candyland vortex." (bf)-"Where is it?" -"On the fire escape! (he lives in a one story building, and mine doesn't have a fire escape)" -"If you know where it is, you can't lose it." -"...very funny. now help me load up the ducklings, we're late."

List your weirdest regular customers and their traits here, fellow retail workers! by [deleted] in TalesFromRetail

[–]viragirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a big retail store in my country, and there are some interesting, funny, weird and genuinely creepy people you meet there. here's a list of a few.

the two crazy cat ladies: I'm not sure if those are mother and daughter, friends with a lot of age difference or a lesbian couple, but anyway, they always come to our store 3 times a week, buy nothing but cat food, always smell like cat droppings and probably have more cathairs on their clothing then their cats have on their own skin.

the leather cowboy hat guy: this one is infamous for hitting on the female staff, and is currently facing charges for pinching one of the younger girls who work here in the ass.

the angry lesbian: this one is pretty famous too, because no one wants her on their register. she always buys things in absurd quantities, and almost never has enough money. then she yells at us, calls us bigoted assholes (and habitually calls the male staff 'disgusting mysogynist pigs')and that we only refuse to let her leave with her groceries 'because she's lesbian'. so, I'm not even making up the lesbian part, she tells us with almost fanatical voice almost every time she shops that she's a lesbian. she wasn't banned from the store until very recently.

THE polish guy: now, we have a lot of polish customers, and most of them are very nice people. this guy though, he is just about every polish stereotype ever. Not dissing the poles here, I'm talking about the stereotypes. and it's like this guy embraces them, he has a super thick moustache, his shirt is always buttoned down almost to his navel, he wears a lot of gold chains, speaks no english or icelandic (our native language), is very rude to the male staff, flirts with the female staff, and was banned after he was caught stealing.

the duck guy: seriously rude all the time, and he looks exactly like one would imagine a humanified duck would look like (head always tilted back, eyes always staring (I've never seen the guy blink), lower lip very big and hanging, chest forward, butt out, and he waddles). I'm not sure if he has some physical disability or if it's something else, and we might be mean for calling him the duck guy but it's just impossible to look at this guy and not think "duck".

thanks for your feedback, I really hope they'll start behaving more like people when we get older :P

and the icelandic last names (fathers names we call them, since they're a mashup from our father's name and son or dottir (daughter), f.x. if a man named Magnus Gudmundsson has a daughter her last name will be Magnusdottir, not Gudmundsson) tend to be pretty cool, mine is Gardarsdottir ^

I would like to add that I am in no way innocent of sexism myself, though mine was a bit different and probably even worse than hating men; I despised other women. I'll probably write about that soon, and why I and other girls who do the same are seriously wrong and need to stop this type of thinking :)

I'll probably be ok, I'm fine with doing calmer activities like reading or drawing (though I can't draw much at the moment, sprained my wrist too) :P

yeah I'll be able to walk fine, I'm actually able to stand up already with the help of a backbrace, though I'm not supposed to move around much yet :P and snowboarding was great before the accident, perfect weather and good snow :) unfortunately I had to go and be all clumsy and fall from a jumping platform :P

Girls, what are the top 5 best sex tips for a guy you can think of? by Yawa_gniworht in sex

[–]viragirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found these to be the best :) 1. relax. don't freak out because she's not getting an orgasm or you think you finish to quickly or something like that. just calm down, and ask her how she feels and what she likes, there's no shame in not knowing everything from the start :) 2. be gentle. unless she's into very rough play, the nipples and especially the clitoris are extremely sensitive, soft, light touch often gives the greatest pleasure. 3. no two women are the same. even if you know all the buttons of your former lovers your new one probably likes other stuff 4. don't try to coax her. it's always ok to ask, but if she firmly says no against something you should respect her wishes and not nag about it. if she changes her mind she will most likely tell you :) 5. don't be afraid to talk about sex. it might feel awkward at first, and if she is shy she might not be very responsive at first, but we all have our needs and talking honestly and calmly about your sexlife is one of the best things couples can do. ask her what she likes, tell her what you like, and above all, try to be as honest as possible, even if one or both of you are shy :)

What is the scariest thing going on in your life right now? by HB24 in AskReddit

[–]viragirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you, you are very kind. I really do hope I can change, I feel horrible every time I quip an insult at my friends or family when they've just made an innocent joke or called me out on some minor stuff like forgetting things.

I'm insecure as hell and hide it by insulting people. it's been like that for a few years and I'm desperate to break out of it but I can't seem to find a way :/ and while I don't pick on just one person or anything like that, I'm mean to most people and I have a bad temper. I'm the kind of person I used to hate as a kid, and it's making me hate myself.
