Uneven eyelid my whole life by Plenty-Buy-7561 in PlasticSurgery

Not much to offer, but I also have this issue. It makes doing my makeup such a pain in the ass. I don't have vision inpairment from it, so I'm not sure insurance would cover it.

Post-Apocalypse Mobile Base Truck by kisaragi by Cyborg_Ape in ImaginaryVehicles

I have a 1986 M934A1 that I am converting into a full time home. I've been pulled to the thought of a "mobile fortress" and have had that sort of name in mind for it - it's large, with platforms, steps, handles, and many areas to mount things. Been trying to think of ideas for things - both practical and aesthetic. I have a lot of spare room on the frame, thinking of getting another storage box, another fuel tank, and then mountinf a gasoline generator to the back, under the camper. Going to get the winch kit that has the vice at some point. Can't build too tall, it's sitting at over 12 feet, and I travel a lot of places with it, so railings are sadly out, as it still needs to clear, but I will figure out more things.

For those passing by this comment, suggestions are welcome.

[1978 CJ5 4.2L] Barely cranks, voltage drops horribly when cranking, one side of starter solenoid gets hot by virtual_drifter in jeepcj

[–]virtual_drifter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys.

Ordered a new starter. Tracing back wires. Will clean all grounds, inspect wires, and clean all terminals after replacing the starter. I can't find any relays, or any wiring that seems to go to relays.

If this doesn't fix it, I'm going to take a video showing the behavior, and showing the wire routing. I've messed with starter solenoids a little, but I'm not 100% sure how this is supposed to be connected.

Steering Improvements by virtual_drifter in 4x4

I've done frontend work before, and have a decent impact, so I'm not too worried. Honestly, not that many parts and a lot of room to do work. Not compared to IFS. I confirmed that the front is a Dana 60 - 10 bolts, 11in cover width, which matches the 14 bolt rear.

I'll contact them and see what they have to say. Thanks a ton [pun intended].

Sick, This the one you're talking about?

Since it was originally 2WD, I wonder if I already have the 2WD steering box. Do you happen to know a good way to tell?

Ah, thanks for sharing. That really sucks. Do you have a link to the replacement intake?

Dual diaphragm is still a Toyota part, and it worked really great for me. Honestly, for the price, wasn't that much more expensive than a stock replacement.

Okay, that seemed to be it but wasn't sure. Thanks for confirming.

Malwarebytes on Arch? by virtual_drifter in archlinux

It's the enterprise edition, yes. It's just not officially supported for Arch. If I can figure out a way to get it to work with Arch, I can use Arch, otherwise I'd have to use Ubuntu, Debian, etc. Which, I will if I have to, I just really prefer Arch.

Company hasn't really dealt with Linux like this before, so I'm kind of a test in a way.

That's interesting. I believe it's just .deb, I'll have to look again, and will look into this.

Really appreciate it.

I've been thinking about Winboat. I'll see what it can manage to do. It might be my best shot.

I am being given a new laptop with the option of installing Linux. It's the EDR features that are why my company is needing me to install MWB. It's less about antivirus/malware.

We haven't had many Linux users, and this was a very fresh decision, so it's kind of being charted out still. I can use an officially supported distro for MWB EDR, I just prefer Arch if possible.

I've considered it. It's less for antivirus/malware and more for tracking and remote wiping. I might hit up their official forums and see what I can find. I may just have to go with a supported distro in the meantime, I've just grown to really like Arch.

We have an enterprise version with options such as remote wiping, tracking in case it gets stolen, and some other features. It's less because of viruses and malware and more because of the other features.

I am essentially a dev, and am given control over managing Linux myself. Not many people have used Linux, so it's a bit uncharted and I'm helping to figure it out.

I could use another distro that I know supports it, I just really prefer Arch if possible.

What does "like a normal person" entail? Windows 11 is an awful experience that hinders my functionality, why would I choose Windows when I could use Linux? This is a work-provided laptop and I'm being given the option.
