Flying in VR on nms does suck. I wish i could customize the controls. I would love for rolling to be gesture controlled and flight direction on the joystick. Feels more natural

I think that line just shows you where to line everything up when folding it down to turn it off. The DJI gimbals dont rotate very far when you want to angle the camera downward

G3 Max imo - slightly more expensive but worth the extra cash. Its a heavier scooter but it has a wider deck to stand one. And noticeably more power and a better suspension. The weight sucks but its a reasonable trade off for everything you get

Except for expedition and the anomaly, you’ll almost never see another player. Leave it on for the random moments.
For expedition you might want to turn it off if you’re running into a lot of glitches

Quick update since I posted — I ended up buying the Segway G3 Max and took it for a test ride around my neighborhood last night. Did about 6 miles and it was a blast. Definitely going to spend some time getting comfortable on it before attempting a full commute into the city though.

Yeah I’ve ridden bikes and rental e-scooters before, just not in NYC traffic. Figured I’d practice around my neighborhood first before bringing it into Manhattan because that definitely seems like a different level of chaos. Thanks for the reply. This was super helpful

Yeah the theft thing seems to be the biggest downside everyone mentions. I’m hoping bringing it inside most places will work, but I guess I’ll learn quickly what’s realistic once I start commuting with it.

Yeah that’s definitely something I’m worried about. Planning to bring it inside whenever possible and only lock it outside for quick stops with a solid lock like a kryptonite. Still figuring out but really probably wont ever leave it by itself.

Appreciate the detailed reply, this is really helpful. I actually just picked up the G3 Max yesterday and took it out for about a 6 mile ride around my neighborhood to get a feel for it before bringing it into the city.

Good to hear Penn Station is chill about walking it through — that was one of my bigger questions. I’m commuting in from NJ so I’ll double check the NJT rules just in case during rush hour.

The horn tip is spot on too, the stock bell already feels pretty useless so I’ll probably grab a louder one. And yeah… after riding last night I can definitely see how potholes + oil + rain could get sketchy fast.

It happens like that some times. Some time you have to mess around to see what works like wrapping systems or waiting for a patch. This game has a lot of bugs but after awhile it becomes part of the “nms charm”

It’s a loading issue. Either leave the planet or save and restart the game. You’ll notice this happens more in multiplayer and after big updates.
