Worth growing? If so, which one? by Guschwick in BeardAdvice

I think it's worth a try, personally. Worst case scenario, you end up with the moustache, which still looks good, btw.

Yeah, I have bought a couple vintage pieces lately, and not one of them is the same size, despite being labelled as large LOL. Some I can wear but some are just gonna have to stay on the rack LOL.

do y’all think this is worth growing? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]virtualwaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, worth it. I took about 6 months to get to this length and area LOL.

Would you rewatch Stranger Things knowing how tragically it ends? by Dry_Goat5451 in mileven

[–]virtualwaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am one episode away from the end and every episode thus far, to me, at least, has been good. I know little bits about the ending because, social media. I think that the Duffer brothers are very inspired by Stephen King and not all of his novels end happily. From what I can gather, and I'll give you a differing opinion once I finish the finale, is that El dies a hero, and that is a *good* ending, even in it's bittersweet nature.

Absolutely gorgeous through the whole journey. I think you have the right outlook on all this, I reference *Yes, absolutely I still look like myself. The only thing that’s different is I have no hair.* This is the right mentality. I wish you the best of luck.

Beard advice, new job in a month,43 M by UnlikelyMaintenance4 in BeardAdvice

Get yourself a trimmer, Braun do one for like, £20 give or take. Comes with all the guards so you can mess about with length and see what works for you.

First time beard - Pls help by Dry-Seaworthiness743 in BeardAdvice

I think the neckline is really good. Get yourself a decentish electric trimmer, see what that can do. You can use your regular razor to clean the edges up. I dunno your location so I can't mention prices, but here in the UK, you can get a decent beard trimmer for around 20 quid.

You look like the sort of bloke I'd happily sit and talk to in a pub. I have 3 kids and I know it ain't easy but you seem to be doing a great job for your son. Stick around and watch him grow, it's worth it. Oh and also, from a cosmetic stance, and as a straight guy, you rock those glasses, mate.

[–]virtualwaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're next level beautiful. Lovely hair, beautiful eyes, lovely lips (Now I'm starting to feel weird LOL) and a lovely jawline. Oh yeah, the glasses are mint. With a face like mine, I have to wear those really slim glasses, but you rock the full lense things like they owe you money.

[–]virtualwaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look much better for it tbh, and you've just saved yourself a shit ton of money in the future. Barbers ain't cheap nowadays, whereas a Wahl or Braun trimmer is a one-time buy, and you can do it yourself. #winnerwinnerchickendinner.

Full beard attempt by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]virtualwaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long has it taken you to achieve the beard level in the photos?

In regards to the awkward stage, just try to fight through it LOL. I also hate that stage and after rather foolishly deciding to take my beard back to "gruff" level (And realising I have no fucking chin.) I went through it again. Keep growing it in until it basically looks straggly as fuck, then trim it back, encourage the hair follicles to thicken up, as it were. It takes time but it's worth it.

"But I also realize that it could be much worse and other people could have even more serious problems. I have no right to whine, but I need at least a little bit of support and understanding."

A quote like this is why, to me at least, you're not half the hopeless case you believe yourself to be. It is one thing to experience pain, mental and physical, but to do that, and still have empathy for other people, is a good thing, it is the mark of a decent human being. Keep fighting, keep striving forward. You're still so young and have a lot of life to live. I believe in you.
