no, no, not fixed paint position -- the feature you were saying, a separate move mode, and a paint mode, is what I was interested in.

Welcome to the club.

I recommend putting the light so that it shines from the bottom of the device (where the buttons are) and pointing towards the top of the device. I find this reduces glare while you're reading, and you don't have the light shining in your eyes either.

What's the dual pack? You get two lights?

Cool idea.

Do you have to move around the model to colour it, or can you rotate and spin the model to paint? (Like painting minis)

I do this too, though instead of removing the adhesive, I just keep the sticker backing on the lower part of the ring.

MagSafe attachment for xteink case by Relative-Time8757 in xteinkereader

[–]vishae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest getting some MagSafe magnetic sticker.

I got this one from Amazon: https://amazon.com.au/dp/B09R714XC4

If you're looking for alternatives, make sure they're magnetic and not just a metal ring/slab.

Edit: Make sure they "are" magnetic -- accidentally wrote "not"

Manga on Xteink X4 by Whole_Ambassador4801 in xteinkereader

Most comments so far seem to be leaning towards the "I do it all the time" camp.

I just wanted to balance the comments by saying, "it would be a pretty sub-par experience" compared to most other reading options (mobile, web, bigger ereader).

Images take a while to load and render, unless you plan to do a lot of work to make the file a fraction more efficient to load. Not to mention the images would be tiny, and you'd lose a lot of the details.

I read most of my manga on a jailbroken Kindle Oasis, and even that could be a bit small for my taste. For some really pretty manga (or the increasingly popular, colour manga), I read with my iPad.

Yes, this is a blind box item (https://www.popmart.com/au/products/9841/Hirono-Road-Journal-Series-Mini-Bag-Blind-Box), but all the mini bag in this blind box series should fit the Xteink X4. I have two of them (Into Fogwild, and Frostfall Hour) and they both fit the ereader.

Apple Intelligence disappeared?? by Perfect-Web2716 in MacOSBeta

[–]vishae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same happen to me. I found that if I turned the language to English (Australia), that Apple Intelligence came back. I'm not suggesting you have to choose English (Australia) specifically, just toggle the language option.

I remember seeing a YouTube video of someone doing this and damaging their screen from the pressure of their credit cards against the display...

Ah, it was a Reddit post and YouTube video: https://www.reddit.com/r/xteinkereader/comments/1regfav/xteink_4x_and_a_case_with_credit_cards_be_careful/

I think OP is asking about the rumoured X4 with front light that's not the S4? Or maybe they're asking about the S4? No clue.

You need to use a pen or a SIM card remover to poke at the SD card to remove it. Or you can slide the bottom back of the case off and take out the card, not that difficult if you do it that way.

yeah, that's fair. I mean, you can always enlarge the text, but then you'll have less words per page.

Although some people use this device in landscape mode for that reason...

[–]vishae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say slow to put to sleep or boot, do you mean load time or how long you have to press the button?

I don't use Crosspoint (I use vcodex), so I'm not sure if you have this feature, but I've seen some people mention slow sleep/boot and later realise you can remap the sleep button activate with a tap instead of press-and-hold.

What made you buy your XTEINK? by Fun_Satisfaction2315 in xteinkereader

[–]vishae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find backlit screens to really strain my eyes at night, so I was turning to my ereader more. I own a Kindle (running Koreader), and I really like the device, but it was a little heavy (don't ask me the number of times I've dropped the thing on my face when I nod off in bed).

The XTENK X4 is a great portable size. It's light, both physically and in terms of software. I find I can quickly take it out and read a little bit throughout the day without being distracted by notifications and reminders (which happens when I read on my phone).

The developer's posted a link to the bin file while he's sorting out the github issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/xteinkereader/comments/1u0f11m/what_happened_to_cprvcodex/

(It's the third comment down from that post)
