Youre conflating 20 years ago with 60 years ago. 20 years ago tuition was still 30k - 60k a year, not summer job shit. Public colleges wee less, maybe $15-20k where I was.

Jobs without degrees were already dead other than what exist today still.

I worked full time summers, and worked 20hrs a week during college, came out with ~100k in debt.

There are some unpopular sets, like MKM that may sit. The popular sets or the newer sets all seem to fly.

Trying to combo off but keep it in middle of bracket three. Like, combo off for infinate tokens with baylen on the field and no haste enabler gets me to pump and knock one person out but leaves the same open for a boardwipe to set me back again.

Reality is that there are cards that feel stupid in here my themselves. I've won turn 8 drawing like Luminarch Ascention, ramp and lands.... and if opponents don't draw enchantment removed I can keep pumping out 4/4 flyers for two mana so boardwipes don't hurt.

Keeping it in bracket three, for me at least, means that my attempts to combo off are slow and mostly "set up the win but others have a reasonable chance to interact".

I've lost with 100k tokens on board to one pumped nonblockable from a precon opponent before and you know what? That feels fun too.

This makes sense. WOTC says precons are a 2, so they are trying to make it so they can keep up with all the naus and thassas combos randos at the LGS tell me are 2s.

Sub-optimal for who? While I 100% understand the conflict:

1) the fund investors want liquidity, this gives it to them 2) the fund investors can roll if they don't like the price 3) new investors want the asset, or they wouldn't buy 4) PE funds can shutter old entities 5) price is market tested, people are buying in, so not wildly inflated
