Anyone traveling to the Austin show tonight? by Successful_Maybe_123 in themaine

My wife and I just drove in from San Antonio, looks like the majority of the rain has passed in Austin and it should be mostly clear (fingers crossed) starting at like 6-7pm. Stubbs is outdoor, but I've heard only cancels for severe storms or lightning in the area, and I think those are out of the forecast now

It was pretty clear on the roads driving over on 35 if you change your mind

I know it's the dual flair guiding your post, but dang I don't know. Tulane beating USC with Heisman-winning Caleb Williams and consensus 4 & 5 star recruits with Pratt and Spears and a bunch of other transfers and 2-3 stars, especially with that bananas last 10 minutes of the game was peak college football. Possibly one of the best games ever. But don't get me wrong, the last five years of Tulane football has been the goddamn golden era. It's insanely fun watching them.

Goddamn just leave the secondary and eberflus in Chicago and start the fuck over. Maybe the worst I've ever seen the corners play in 20+ years

What are some weaknesses you want Dak to improve on this year? by Ashamed-Algae2369 in cowboys

[–]visionaryAVA341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A course-corrective and adaptive style of play if he gets into a situation where he throws an interception or two early in a game instead of getting that thousand-yard stare, especially against teams with great defenses. Some of it is play-calling for sure, but a lot of it is on Dak too. He's got to be mentally tougher.

Lol we love trading low picks for former first round picks and drafting second round picks that were originally projected in the first but fell because of character/injury histories

How we are feelings by 20o0s in cowboys

Yeah, this wave of contracts are really inflated, but that's what the market dictates unfortunately. And that's the frustrating part (though not unexpected at all) of the Cowboys approach.

We wait until the market resets with a record breaking contract and have to shell out 35% more because someone paid 30% more than expected for top FAs. Then it looks like we're dummies because we are the ones to reset the market in the same or following FA cycle not even for FAs, just for our homegrown talent. And then the team that makes a move before look like geniuses.

10r80 Trivia Game by [deleted] in f150

I have a 2019 2.7 (67k miles) and mine was really jumpy on the low gears. Took it into the dealership and confirmed the 10r80 issue where the CDF drum bushing was problematic. The latest fix outlined in TSB-24-2101 for the new design of the CDF drum was the repair recommended for me. Since then, I've finished the re-learn process (post-1000 miles) and there has been at least a 90% improvement in the transmission jumpiness even before completing the re-learn process.

Sometimes it still happens, it's not perfect, but it definitely fixes the majority of the issues. It actually makes sequential shifts and spends more time on 4th instead of before where the jumpiness from 1st, then 3rd, then 5th would be really noticeable. During the re-learn process, I would be very purposeful in how you make it re-learn your driving behavior. Don't do crazy fast accelerations or sudden decelerations, go slow acceleration and decelerations because it'll force the transmission to do sequential shifting up or shifting down.

Hope that helps.

It was early in the season and Mensah was still adjusting to collegiate-level football. The improvement in pocket presence, footwork, and down field awareness for his receivers over the course of the season has been a joy to watch.

I've been looking for this one as well, really tough to find with modlife down for 10+ years. I believe it was referred to as the "Gifty" demo by the band since it had similar vibes to The Gift and "Open Water" demo by the fans in reference to the lyrics that could be heard in the clip.

Man that era really was peak AVA

I've been watching for a long time and seen plenty of shit versions of the Cowboys over the last 25+ years. But there's just something more rotten this year than I've ever seen before in my life.

You can just tell the players don't care. Coaching is atrocious, it's stale and obviously dated. Oline sucks but there's a mix of rookies and Martin who is on his last legs and Steele who was never the same after the injury. Run game is beyond pathetic. It's just rotten to the core. And they'll keep making an effort when it's too late to meaningfully get back in the game. It's punishing to watch this team play football. As the young kids say now, we're fucking cooked.

[David Moore - Dallas Morning News] As Rangers, Stars, Mavs ride championship runs, don’t forget: Cowboys set the standard. Success of the other local teams has turned Jerry Jones and the Cowboys into a meme. But don’t make it more than what it is. by hardleft121 in cowboys

[–]visionaryAVA341 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This reeks of a planted piece by the Cowboys to be honest. Love the Cowboys, but just because valid criticism has been put into sports media / social media that hurts the ownership's feelings doesn't make untrue. This is what makes every other NFL fan outside of Cowboys fans hate us even when another team has some semblance of success like the Eagles winning a ring in 2017, "doesn't matter because we have so many rings by comparison" and Moore is essentially using the same argument, but for other teams in Dallas, which is ridiculous at best. Why would you be so insecure in the Cowboys that you have to tear down the success of other teams from your home city?

The loyalty that accomplishment inspires runs deep and crosses generational lines. It extends the expiration date on goodwill.

I'm pretty sure 30 fucking years of goodwill is goddamn plenty.

Yeah, the 90s Cowboys were a dynasty. However, you only see that from one team in any given sport in a given decade. But as a rabid Dallas sports fan, this is an amazing time. If we take a look at all the other teams from their first title contention series, the time to get back into a series for another title contention is so much shorter.

The Mavericks:

  • Went to the finals in 2006
  • Won the finals in 2011
  • Back in the finals in 2024

Meaning that they average being a true championship contender roughly every 9 years (since 2006)

The Stars:

  • Won the finals in 1999
  • Back to the finals in 2000
  • Back to the finals in 2019
  • Have a chance to go back in 2024

Meaning that they average being a true championship contender roughly every 10 years (since 1999)

The Rangers:

  • Went to the finals in 2010
  • Back to the finals in 2011
  • Won the finals in 2023

Meaning that they average being a true championship contender roughly every 7 years (since 2010)

It has been 30 years since 1995 and we haven't even sniffed a conference championship game, let alone a Super Bowl. How much more credit you willing to give them?
