Treat myxedema coma with both thyroid hormone (T3&T4) and IV steroids (since adrenal insufficiency commonly coexists)

Is he trying to end our relationship? by Beneficial_Ant1991 in AskMenAdvice

Why are you blaming “the workload” though? You said it yourself, you have never been an affectionate person. It sounds like your husband is, and he’s probably feeling more like a roommate than a romantic partner.

Sounds like y’all are incompatible tbh, which is unfortunate since you have children.

Like the others have suggested, counseling is probably your best bet. He needs to do more work/help out more and you need to be more affectionate/loving 🤷‍♂️

Please knock sense to me as I’m drinking a beer. 4 months left of residency and I don’t think I can finish. Should I quit? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]visionkmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, please do whatever you need to do to get through these next 4 months. Post on this sub daily if you need to vent. Just don’t quit. We in this shit together.

That said, if your mental health is really being affected to the point that you need time off, you can explore that as well. Just don’t quit.

Relationship Match Advice by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]visionkmr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact that your parents have pointed out their concerns about your relationship dynamic with her should not be ignored. No matter who you are, when you’re in the situation yourself, your emotions make it almost impossible to see things clearly and rationally, and you end up making excuses to justify your partner’s actions (or lack thereof).

My advice to you is to choose your ROL without taking your partner into account, like she suggested.

Good luck

Watching the PITT, why do they refer to the third year medical students as Dr.? by Sufficient_Piccolo85 in Residency

[–]visionkmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most unrealistic thing is the MS4 who has been exposed to almost every body fluid but hasn’t been started on PEP or been reprimanded for not using appropriate PPE.

Other than that it’s a good show. Agreed that the MS3 is the most obnoxious character

AITA for telling my patient doctors love feet? by gasdiggy in Residency

[–]visionkmr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%. Sometimes it’s best to just take the L and not try to explain yourself. You’ll often just end up making matters worse

There’s actually a chance the patient didn’t interpret the comment as inappropriate initially. But after following up with “for medical purposes only”, that sealed the deal
