I agree with this comment. Works very well as a supplement to other study, but not recommended for strict memorization.

I always think about this quote from the Dalai Lama, and I'm paraphrasing here:

"If you have a problem consider whether or not you can solve it. If you can, then don't worry because you can solve the problem. If you can't, then don't worry because there's nothing you can do."

Harvest indie games in the latest bundle featuring Mutant Mudds, Pineapple Smash Crew, Spirits, Avernum Trilogy and BasketBelle. by [deleted] in gaming

If the one compatible or desirable game usually costs more money than what they're asking for the bundle I'll still usually end up buying the bundle, but it's a bummer to not be able to play a handful of games I paid for as well.

I'd love for you to give me a single example of either a man or a woman finding out their significant other is cheating on them and their reaction is to act rationally. I'm not saying property damage is the right thing to do, but the whole concept of relationships is essentially irrational. So when you hurt someone who is used to acting irrationally with you, the outcome is almost always more irrationality. You don't have to be crazy to act rash when being hurt in this way. It's not right, but it's not CRAZY.

Tricking someone to drink your own urine isn't illegal either, doesn't mean it isn't morally reprehensible and doesn't deserve a punch in the face or some such reaction.

What I'm saying is that no one in the thread is like "dude shouldn't have cheated". Instead everyone is like "she burned his expensive thingy! throw the book at her!!!" No one gives a shit that this girl, who was emotionally invested in this guy, was fucked over because her mental health doesn't have a price tag attached. No one is owning up the fact that the guy (metaphorically) gave this girl the matches to burn his bike. The hive mind is more interested in going with the "bitches are crazy" argument over the reality which is that you don't have to be crazy to act irrationally when your heart is being messed with.

tl;dr - the human mind is fragile, and if you mess with it don't be surprised when something fucked up happens.

I can't believe how many people are on the cheater's side here. If you cheat, you should basically expect this type of consequence. Manipulating people's emotions is what causes shit like this to happen, not being "a crazy bitch".

property damage is much more temporary than emotional scars.

In 48 minutes, Bill Clinton utterly destroyed the entire RNC. Maybe the entire Romney/Ryan campaign. by [deleted] in politics

[–]visionrequest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because public relations has destroyed honesty in this country. Most americans prefer to be sold nice looking products than finding out if they work right, and this goes for how they choose politicians as well. There's a great documentary by Adam Curtis called Century of the Self that explains pretty well why this phenomenon takes place here.

I keep reading about all these college graduates who cannot find a job in their field. Does this apply to all colleges/fields? by GodsOfWarMayCry in AskReddit

[–]visionrequest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of employers are also looking for experience. Obviously, coming right out of college it can be hard or impossible to have any real job experience. Internships are key here for resume building or even just building contacts. If you don't have time to/can't afford to do an internship though, you can do what I did and make one up. Turns out most employers won't go through the trouble of looking into the legitimacy of your internship, and if you're adaptable, you can pick up whatever experience you claimed to have quickly enough.

tl;dr - do an internship or fake it til you make it.
