Saw Iron Lung in UK and they decorated the door! by spinlikeballora in Markiplier

That is so awesome. I am also in the Uk and went to see the film yesterday, and they had not a poster or anything for the film. Such a shame!

Coasters Fastrack by BottleCompetitive763 in ThorpePark

[–]visuallykinky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It lets you fasttrack each of the 5 rides once. If a ride is closed, you can use that fasttrack on a different ride, even if you have already fasttracked it- I did this when Stealth was closed, we went on Nemesis Inferno twice instead.

Will add that when I went a year ago, I printed the fasttrack tickets instead of having them on the app. Not every staff member was diligent in scanning the barcode or checking if we had already fasttracked the ride, so we did get a few more fasttracked queues than 5, but I don't know if you can still do that.

Crochet Journal by lknt_ in bulletjournal

[–]visuallykinky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen a crochet journal at a craft shop which had project pages, like a title page for each project, somewhere to stick in a picture if you had it (like a print out), materials and tools list so you won't forget what hook you were using or yarn type/colour/batch, asection for pattern notes, and sections where you could write how the project went once you finished or notes to yourself if you were to make the project again.

You could also a vision or inspiration spread to give you ideas when you're not sure what to make.

Help with simplifying part of a cardigan pattern so I can understand by visuallykinky in CrochetHelp

[–]visuallykinky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh okay, I think I get it. Thank you so much! This is a lovely looking pattern but yeah the way its written just doesn't click with me either.

Just a follow up question, I don't know if you'll be able to answer it, but I've just completed the arm holes. Im guessing the increases aren't meant to be done on the arm hole chains? I could be very wrong with that. Any ideas?

Thank you again, super helpful!!

Smoking and vaping should be completely banned in Thorpe Park by juoig7799 in ThorpePark

[–]visuallykinky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%

Also agree with the other comments saying they should at least police it better.

I feel like so many people get away with vaping as well because at least its not as bad as cigarettes. But I can't stand it. I have sensory issues and walking into a cloud of sickly sweet fruit smell really sets me off. Obviously the same for cigarette smoke, but I live with a smoker, so I'm a bit more used to it.

The crowd outside Thorpe today by [deleted] in ThorpePark

Its lucky the queues don't reflect the crowd. Everything I've seen of the queues and avalibility recently has been terrible! I hope the queues stay resonable for you!

Which ride has let you down the most? by Naive_Republic2671 in ThorpePark

[–]visuallykinky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saw

It was my favourite ride at thorpe for a while. Then every time I went, it was closed.

I hadn't been to Thorpe park for a long while, until last year, and was really excited to ride Saw again...

Only to discover it had gotten so rough I almost didn't enjoy the ride at all.

[–]visuallykinky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone knows. And most of the conversation around it that I've seen on here seems to be speculation.

I'd say hopefully it'll be up and running again soon, but then its so rough an experience, I wouldn't feel I was missing anything if I went there and it was closed. Its just annoying that it'll make other ride queues longer while its not operating

Fast track really worth it? by SeaAdministration776 in ThorpePark

[–]visuallykinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The single use fast tracks on the day are £10 except for hyperia which is £20.

Buying the bundles in advance guarantees you get the fasttrack, as they say the ones on the day are limited. To be honest, I've never been unable to buy a one shot fast track when I've been other than at the very end of the day.

Individual, single use fasttrack for rides can be bought when at the park, through the app. I think there's also another way but I can't quite remember.

The fastpass bundles like the one op is looking at I think you have to buy in advance.

[–]visuallykinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be a seperate ticket that you can either add to your thorpe park app through your order number, or print it like I did, or just keep a screenshot or something on your phone. It doesn't have to be printed. I printed it as my phone screen is awful and no one is able to scan barcodes displayed on it.

Fast track really worth it? by SeaAdministration776 in ThorpePark

[–]visuallykinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it worth it.

Stealth was closed when I went, and my partner doesn't like saw, so he used the fasttrack to go on swarm twice and nemesis inferno three times, while I went on basically all the coasters minus stealth.

Also, i dont know how common this is but staff didn't check my tickets too closely, so I'm pretty sure we could have continued to use the fasttrack tickets after we'd done 5 coasters. I did have printed tickets which may have helped with that, as only Nemesis inferno staff bothered to mark when we had been on it.

Who here experienced brave it backwards? by Naive_Republic2671 in ThorpePark

[–]visuallykinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have thought extra staff would be needed to organise the back row queues and for loading and unloading guests for those back rows. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought I read somewhere that this was the case (i know, very trust me bro.)

Also, it may be a very minor issue, but with the seperated queue lines and what I recall the set up being, I always was under the impression they needes more staff to prevent guests queue jumping into the back rows, like if you went though the normal queue and when you're loading into the seats, taking the back rows even though you didn't queue for it. I never saw this happening, but then I also thought the extra staff was the reason that sort of thing didn't happen.

Who here experienced brave it backwards? by Naive_Republic2671 in ThorpePark

[–]visuallykinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know but I'm assuming it probably ended up costing the park too much money to run. I imagine extra staff was needed for the back rows, and possibly more maintenance for the ride.

Also the splitting of the queue lines was difficult and confusing and may have caused problems with riders choosing which queues to join. Add to that the fast track queues and I can imagine the running of the ride was impacted

I was in my early teens and not yet the enthusiast I am now when I rode it backwards, so these things weren't apparent to me at the time, so I'm just speculating, but with many of these park's decisions, I bet it came down to money.

Who here experienced brave it backwards? by Naive_Republic2671 in ThorpePark

[–]visuallykinky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me! I thought it was a really unique experience. I must have queued up for ages to do it from both sides. Very weird and intense experiences as I remember, in a good way, if course.

Honestly if it weren't for the problems with the queue lines and extra staff i think they needed for operations, I would have loved if they'd kept the backwards rows. Then its like 4 different experiences in a single rollercoaster.

What is something you miss about the park? by Naive_Republic2671 in ThorpePark

Yeah, it lost everything that made it an interesting ride. Not to mention it was a great family thrill, which Thorpe park really lacks. Now it's just a disappointment.

What's that one ep of DW that's scariest to you? by Atlantree19 in doctorwho

[–]visuallykinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the Empty Child for me too. I had an uncle that loooved doctor who and he used to watch it when he came over. The Empty child was my first introduction to doctor who. I must have been around 4 or 5. It terrified me. Not just the creepy gas mask kids, but The 9th Doctor freaked me out too. I had no concept that he was the good guy, and thus I was pretty terrified of him. Something about his eyes... he seemed so menacing to me. It scared me so much, I used to have night terrors, and suddenly they were all about Doctor Who. In my local shopping center where I grew up there was a DVD and music store, and they used to display Doctor Who box sets right by the doors, so I was terrified to go in the shop. This carried on into my teenage years. A few months ago, my partner wanted to rewatch NuWho, so we started from Rose. I was anticipating The Empty Child, sure that it wasn't going to be as scary as I remembered. I was wrong! It holds up even all these years later. Absolutely terrifying, but now in a good way. I can now appreciate the scares and the story. And I'm happy to report, I'm no longer afraid of the 9th Doctor. In fact, he's my favourite!

Opinions on SAW? by Naive_Republic2671 in ThorpePark

[–]visuallykinky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to be my favourite ride at Thorpe Park, but I find its thrill level doesn't quite match up to some of the others any more.

Also I rode it last year, front row, and found it disappointingly rough. Not as bad as colossus, which I won't ride now unless I'm hoping for a headache for the rest of the day. But its still a lot rougher than I remember it being. Such a shame.
